What powder(s) are you still looking for?

Are any other .223 powders of interest? I've seen a steady increase in availability of H335 and I've been able to get a couple of pounds of W748. Both of those meter exceedingly accurately for me.

About a month ago multiple LGSs had 10+ lbs of H335. One of the pounds of W748 I picked up at Cabelas.

OR

Not sure if you are loading gas gun or bolt , but I have had excellent results loading W748 , XBR8208 , and for lighter 52gr bullets i've been using Benchmark in my 24" bbl Varmint AR-15. These powders always seemed to be in good supply.

I would like some more Titegroup, 231, Trail Boss and Universal.
I am dropping Unique for Universal. Oh, and some WSF too.
I also want to try H335 in some rifle rounds.

Trying to see what powders members are still looking for, so I can keep on my radar. Guessing 2400 is still on the list, but not sure what else.
Narrowed my choice down to one
Power Pistol after using anything I could find
I am going to stick with PP . Believe it or not
it is readily available localy. Produces great results
at starting loads,
use it for all my handguns, clean, accurate , smokeless,
all but eliminated powder burns on the cases.

Ready to travel

I live in southern NJ and in about 2 hrs. I am heading to PA
to pick up some Power Pistol, Unique, or titegroup, what ever they have. Its about an hour drive prices are reasonable, 22
to 26 dollars a pound, I've been lucky to find them in stock
im pretty much sold on the PP though

I just started loading about a year ago. I ran across a 8lb can of 231 before I ever bought a press. Pistol powder seems to run in cycles. Tite Group wa common for a few months last year. When it dried up Unique and Bullseye appeared. Got several pounds of each and then it was gone. The same seemed to happen with H110, 2400, LilGun, etc. Now I'm seeing Clays, Universal, HP38, and 231 on the shelves. I've learned not to pass it up when I see it. I've accumulated enough in the last year to keep me going for a long time. Now I'm on the lookout for some AA1680 for subs in my new .458 SOCOM.

I am steadily searching for 2400. I just started loading 357 mag and from all the research I have read 2400 is a good all around powder for the caliber. I have plenty of HP38 and SR-7625 with a few pounds of SR-4756 so I have some powder to play with but I am wanting that 2400 for some full house loads. H110/296 also seem to be good powders but they may be a little touchy for my experience level.

I'd like to locate some CFE223, because I recently put together an AR15. Had I known I was going to do this last summer I could have put together a good stash, because on two separate visits the Fin had 8 lbs. kegs of CFE223 on the shelf. Lesson learned is that when you snooze you lose.

Right now I'm loading with Varget and "tuning" the charge weight with tweezers. Takes me about 1 hour to charge 50 cases this way. On the plus side the accuracy is superb.

PS; if anyone is curious one granule of Varget averages out to be about 0.025 grain. So, with my tweezers I'm adjusting my loads within about 1/2 a granule.
I got about the same accuracy with CFE223 and Varget with a Sierra 69gr match. Both under 0.75" out of a 18" 1/7 barreled AR. Both did better at the upper end. If you have Varget you should be good to go. I haven't tried CFE223 with lighter bullets yet but Varget is great with the heavier pills. Faster powders seem to work better for me with the lighter bullets.

I need Titegroup badly am down to about a 1/8 of a pound. I would take Autocomp, or CFE Pistol if I could find any.

I'm headed down to Fla. about the end of April, (If my luck holds out!)... If my local dealer get's some more in I'll see if I can bring you a pound or so....

My LGS got a huge shipment of TG last week. I bought two 8 lb. jugs. I'm going down there tomorrow and buy some more.
