I have a used Randall with leather stacked handle, six inch blade, leather sheath marked Randall with number 6 stamped on back. Blade has been sharpened but it is razor sharp. Top leading edge of blade sharp also. Thanks in advance. Trying to determine whether to sell or keep

Im far from a Randall expert, but I would guess it is a Model 1, 6" barrel with a lanyard hole. Honestly, most buyers of Randall's are collectors and are looking for ones in collectable condition. I'm not a collector so that wouldn't play a role in a knife I was interested in buying. I would say keep it, keep using it, enjoy it and pass it down. I doubt you would get a price out of it that you would be happy with. I sold a brand new one with 5 upgrades (the max amount) and I think I got $525 out of it.

Collectors, or the purists, would suggest you just fell of the turnip truck and offer you a few hundred for it. I would think you'd be better off keeping it than selling it cheap. But if you want $ instead of the knife, you can try fleabay. Even go looking there for a similar knife and see where the bidding is. A general rule for a knife like that would be maybe don't sell for under $500. Until you get a good date estimate, it would be near impossible to give an honest value.

Somebody enjoyed owning that knife. Good for him. I'd love to know it's story.

On a side note. I've often wondered how many little old vietnamese women are using Randall's worn down to pairing knife size to clean their fish.

Original stones are grey, White, or Salmon. Depending upon which it is will drive down the build date to a couple of years.

If its the white stone ( it sounds like it is). That dates it to @69 through 72 or so. Right in the Viet Nam era. May explain the use. It's a really nice knife.

Looks like a model 1 all purpose fighting knife in standard configuration. I suggest you go to knifetalkforum.com and post your questions in the Randall section. You'll get plenty of answers there.
