Forgive my rookie question. I just started with handguns a year ago or so. I bought 7 handguns since then, all semi auto. I presently have a Witness .22,Witness .40 S&W, Canik Stingray9mm compact, and a S&W M&P .45 compact. I can use everything but the .22 as a CCW, but my EDC and favorite is the M&P.
Now I want to get my feet wet in the revolver realm, and I don't know squat about them, and don't pretend to. I will use whatever I buy as a CCW. My question is:
What revolvers do you presently use as a CCW?

I prefer a 3" K frame.......... 66 or 65 in .357

If you look you are most likely to find a 65; or a 64 in .38 special.

Man after my own heart.

This is in the rotation with my M&P9 Compact-

There is a Colt Agent tucked in my waistband as I write this. Loaded with six rounds of .38 Sp+P. The little Colt has a factory hammer shroud, which still allows access to the hammer for single action use. I have carried a 642 on a lot of occasions, but have developed a fondness for the Colt. If'n I had a 2-1/2" M19/66, I'd probably leave the Colt at home more often.

You can't go wrong with a snubby J Frame or K Frame in .38 Special or .357 Magnum. I like a 642 as my coat pocket carry, but I also carry a 2-1/2" Model 66 in an OWB holster. My .22 magnum single action North American Arms Pug easily tucks into a vest pocket or front pants pocket.

Another 642 fan here . . . primarily for pocket carry.

While on the bike and using a paddle holster, I fall off the revolver wagon. :o

Those are .40 S&W caliber and weigh 7 ounces more than the revolver, which seems like a lot in a pocket.

The loaded weight difference would less if the revolver did not have a replacement (S&W) titanium cylinder. ;)

I carry two and rotate a lot. (some will say stick w/one gun). My back up are usually a J frame or the Ruger LCP. My primary can be from a 3 inch model 65 up to a 627 or 629 snubs....depending on season with the heavier guns. My Glock 26 has hardly been carried or shot in the last year.

I carry my 642 no lock and a Glock 23 or LCP. I have other J frames but I like the 642 for carry.
