1st determine what caliber you are interested in. A .222 or .223 shoots great at 200 yards. If you want more recoil, .243, .308, 7-08, then the big stuff which you really don't want to shoot all that much. For sheer accuracy, get a bolt action. For fun, get an AR.
Part of longer range shooting is reloading to get the best accuracy, (and save a few dollars at the same time). Consider ammo costs. .222, .223 are the least expensive to reload, and .223 the least expensive for factory ammo.
Scope wise, get a good one, the price of the scope should be close to the price of the gun. Leupold, Nikon are medium priced scopes and more than satisfactory for 200 yards. Scope power should be at least 4-12X, with up to 18X or 20X on the top end even better.
