Random Object Photographs

Feeding time seems to be late evening after PeeBee eats. I need to start using aperture priority and broaden my depth of field on some group shots.View attachment 789036

Nothing wrong with what you're doing now. Blurred background enhances the subject by keeping the eye focused where the image is sharp. Beautiful family portrait!

I like the blurred backgrounds for portraits like this but PeeBee is just a bit out of focus compared to the kittens, who I was focusing on. A couple stops tighter and she would have been in focus as well with the background still blurry. I tend to run in program mode for speed, both shutter speed and not having to make any changes. If I find the right aperture for this distance and set up A mode for it then a quick two clicks on the mode switch gets me ready to go.

Not to detract from JohnRippert's pics of Peebee & family (after all, I'm primarily a cat person) but my visit to the local building supply store this morning was plesantly enhanced by this splendid beastie; what my gf would call a "big poople-schnoople bear" :)

Several years ago, visiting a friend in Maryland. My son finding humor in my old friend's (older than me) sense of "humor." About 15 minutes after this pic was taken a Maryland State Trooper pulled us over and "requested" my friend remove the prop, which he did. Some people never grow up and perhaps that's why I like this friend.

I'll never forget crossing the mountain range in Utah on the way to Bryce Canyon.
It started raining on me leaving Moab, UT. and rained all the way to Bryce, crossing the mountain range low visibility, rain, sleet, snow mix was very memorable to say the least! :) haha

My gf has resurrected a hobby- crocheting - and has made a couple of scarves for retired colleagues. Being a geneticist, DNA is in her blood (so to speak) so she's done the DNA spiral. Went "thrifting" to try and find a used mannequin to display the scarves, but when she found nothing she decided to use the stuffed leopard that graces the back of one of her couches. "A scarf with authority", and rather fine combination IMHO.

I recently scanned some really old photos from the Akron Ohio area. They date to some time between between 1923 and 1926. The photos belonged to a first cousin who lived in the area. I didn't know they made cars with the steering wheel on the right side. The one of the trolley car is actually a post card. It says it is from November 10, 1913. The trolley was an inter urban system that went from Akron Ohio to Bedford to Cleveland.

Really cool photos, I love Bryce and Zion .... fingers crossed for your surgery !

Great ride, but there much better motorcycle roads to get across AZ and NM than I 40!!
I was using a GPS which was leading me home on I 40
This was my second trip through AZ and NM on the motorcycle. My first trip I was camping in Prescott, after talking with locals I knew I had to ride Hwy 666 from Safford to Eager, then onto Albuquerque on the way home.
