Look at what I found will replacing the grill cover last night.

Does anybody know what type of spider it is? I live in Marietta, a suburb northwest of Atlanta, GA.
Thanks,
Glen

I don't know that I'd eat it!!

At least not until you skin it first...I'm not in to spider hair/fuzz!

I was feeling a little Green Peacing and let it go

I was feeling a little Green Peacing and let it go at a wooded area across the street from my house.

Thought about squishing the beast, but then I would have to clean the remains.

Good ol Mayretta, I'm in Norcross. Carefully check the belly. It somewhat resembles the Brown Widows (yes, same family as Black Widows) that I occasionally find in my repair shop. A Brown Widow has an orange hourglass instead of red and the legs are striped. The bodies are also smaller than that of Black Widows.

I thought it was cute.

I'm not scared of spiders of any type. I "kept" a large Golden Arigope orb-weaver in my mom's garden as a "pet". She was big and got used to my feeding her a fly or two at around lunch time everyday!

Just KILL the damn thing!

P.S. I HATE spiders!

I agree with the poster who said it was a wolf spider. I have lots of them around my house, and they seem to be pretty good at eating all the other bugs. Scary looking (even when they're dead and shriveled up!), but otherwise harmless.
