If you were going to purchase more magazines, what size would you purchase. 10 round ASC's, 20 round Thermold or 30 round TangoDown's. With my Christmas gift I can purchase (plus shipping) 2 10rnd ASC's, 4 20rnd Thermold or 4 30 round TangoDowns for about the same price. They all function well for me so it is not new territory but I am having trouble deciding.
thanks for the input!

I am buying as many 30 rounds as I can to stock up on them, If they are banned most likely they will do like the last time and not allow civ's to purchase any more however what we have will be grandfathered and the price of used will skyrocket up.

Lucky for you guys! Last time there was a ban, NJ did not grandfather anything. IMO the country will go to 10 magazine for all weapons with a possibility the assault rifle style will be completely banned. I really hope I am wrong but we have an out of control president.

I find that the 20s are more functionable when using a bipod. Also they weigh less fully loaded which means you rifle weighs less while moving around. The 30s look cool which will make them worth more in the resale market later.

If You going to buy any mags now is the time to buy 30's as many as you can afford.. IMO.. a ban of some type is going to happen but it's still a roll of the dice as to just how bad it will be to'' We The People!!!"" I don't have money wish I had the $$$ to get some more..

I'd buy whatever was legal first, available second.

Jayhawk I see your point. 20 rounders can be great for bench shooting or shooting off of a bag.

I only shoot off of a bipod, it is my preferential way of shooting!

My 30's gather dust. Doesn't mean I'll get rid of them, but for range shooting and hunting I much prefer 20 rounders.

Too many people sound like they've already conceded to a ban on nearly everything. The dust hasn't even settled yet. Now is the time to stand strong. Guns and mags aren't the culprit here. Untreated mental disorders, gunowners(mom) who are complacent with gun storage and gun free zones should be the focus here. A self-defeatist attitude will surely lead to loss of freedoms.

Oneye im with you on bipod shooting. I realize that there are other types of rifles out there that are probably better for precision shooting then my carbine but I am just addicted to seeing how far I can take it. I have yet to reach my potential. BTW nice setups, wish I had a couple to choose from and I like your handguard selections.

I bought 6 30 round pmags from the S&W website this morning and they weren't back ordered either. I'll have them on Monday or either the day after Xmas. Just to spread the word. I won't mind some 20 round mags though.

Amen. When you look at the numbers....... I can tell you one thing is for sure: All those rifles being bought are not by repeat gun owners. Many of these are non-gun owners who would rather opt-in, rather than opt-out. They are not gun nuts. But they DO have a deep seated belief in the 2A, and rightfully so, this is one concrete way to oppose changing a fundamental right of the people.
A lot of people who are not big into shooting WILL vote out those who defy their principles- a lesson well remembered from Clinton's mid-terms. Once the panic settles down, and real life sets back in??? Obama is still a POTUS with a low approval rating, and he is STILL running super-deficits. He's going to see more opposition every day that passes, so let's let some time pass, and get our ducks in a row.

And, for God's sake, buy 30 round Tango's over the Thermolds any day of the week.
Look at it this way: a 6 pack of beer is always a 6 pack. But an 18 pack...is a six pack and a six pack and a six pack. Or, it's a 12 pack, AND a 6 pack. Or, if you have a little help, then it's an 18'er, and you are all set to go.;)

Buy 30's. They might be the best investment you could make at this point. Even if you do not have an AR, buy some Pmaggs if you can find them at a decent price. If a ban does happen, they will fetch $100 easily.

I ordered a few more 25 round mages for the 15-22 the other day from 44mag.com. But I am good on Pmags for the Colt :)

I'm not so sure about that. And I can tell you every single person I know who already has an AR has been buying the hell out of mags this week. Magpul Pmags went from $8/ea to $75/ea in some places virtually within a 2 day period.

Pretty much every single AR in my town has been sold too.

It's absolutely disgraceful how gun stores have reacted to this event in terms of pricing.

I told my LGS to go to hell. He is price gouging everything AR and high cap mags he can. Which he already had in stock! I myself refuse to do buisness with price gougers.

The LGS my dad goes to will sometimes make a deal and keep it when the world is going crazy, but most times not. My Dad bought a AR15A3 Colt with an HBar a few months back for $600, which he gave to my youngest brother (a LEO) for Christmas. So Thursday he goes up to buy another one. This one is an AR15A3 without the removable handle wit the pencil barrel and the bore is on its very downside for $1k. Remember when buying used and the bottom of the pile there is a reason. I doubt he ever shoots it but I would at the least sight it in
