What was your first N frame?

4" M28-2. My first duty gun. Carried throughout my career in uniform and frequently on stakeouts and raids after I went to Investigations. Along the way it acquired a green front sight insert, white outline rear and rubber finger groove Mustang grips. Sadly I let it slip away at a Wyoming gun show, traded for something I not only no longer own, but can't even remember.

It was in the S-series. If you think you have it and would be interested in a clean 6" S-series and $100 PM me the SN and we can talk. I'll cover all shipping.

My first N frame is a first year Highway Patrolman that was given to me by my maternal grandfather while I was in the police academy. The full story of that gun can be found on the ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.

Here is a picture of that gun:

The Sambar stag stocks and floral carved holster were added to the package for a BBQ event. It wears numbers matching diamond magna stocks and is paired with a holster made in the Ft Sam brig (by prisoners).

The first N frame that I bought for myself was a 657 4", sadly let go in trade for a 4x4 Suburban. It was a good trade at the time, but was sorely missed for some time thereafter.

Picked up this pre-Model 27 recently to see what an N frame was all about size wise - it's a handful! Looking forward to shooting it soon, maybe lunchtime picnic at the range on Thursday!

My first N-frame that I owned, rather than used, was a 29 6.5" about 15 years ago. Which I sold for a good profit. My only one now is a 28, which is lovely. Never cared for the heavy-caliber revolvers, although I own a brick Redhawk in .44. Can't remember why I bought it, as I have almost no use for a .44 Mag.

My first N frame is a 4 inch 28-2 I still have after all these years. I got it around 1982 new. It shows a lot of holster wear as it should since I carried it nightly for about 3 years as an armed security officer. It helped in many hairy situations.

My first was a 4 screw M28 my dad gave me when I turned 21
The first one I bought was a 625-2 Model 1988
Still have them both

My first N-frame was a M 28-2, purchased in August of 1973, shortly after I entered the academy. The Sheriff's Dept did not issue firearms in those far off days, we had to buy our own. I carried it almost to the end of my probation. I practiced weekly shooting Magnum hand loads and after 7-8 months of that the timing, carry up, indexing and end shake were all in need of attention. For a couple months I replaced it with a used but functional M58 that had caught my fancy, my second N-frame.

Dave

You have excellent taste in weaponry.

My first N frame was my M28-2 that my brother gave me about 5 years ago.

The first N frame that I purchased was this extremely nice unfired (since leaving the factory so I don't get corrected ;) )
M27-7 that I sold about two months ago.

Mine was a 1926 .44 special with a 4" bbl. It had been re-blued and had real stag grips and I loved it. It was also my first (of now many) .44 special. I've had it for over 40 years and will never let it go.

My first N was a M-29-3 8 3/8" blue. I worked all one summer after high school as doing labor at a construction site. Saved up enough money to go to the local shop and get that 1911 I had been looking at all summer. The day I got there it was gone... But my 29 was there. I put many thousands of rounds through it, still have it, always will until im gone and someone else gets to enjoy it. These days the longer barrel is a joy to shoot as I can still see the sights unlike my shorter barrel guns.

My first was a 4" Model 28. I don't know if there was a dash involved, I didn't know that much back then. I traded a 1903 Springfield for it.

Model 58 blue. I wore it on duty for a while back in the early 70's. I traded it for something, don't remember what. I replaced it a few years ago with one marked SAPD. It ain't going anywhere.

A pre-29 that I bought in 1971 for $150 when Smith & Wessons were really hard to get a hold of. I still have it and will probably donate it to one of my grandsons when the right time comes. All the old girl sees are light target to mid-range lead bullet loads. Did I mention it is super smooth?
