What was your first handgun caliber?

Mine was a 357 magnum.

From your thread title, I was going to answer "Susan," ;) but then it all became clear. It was a retired 65-3 OK SP in .357. After a trip to SW to tighten it up and a new pair of stocks it is one of my best shooting revolvers. Tight, smooth, and shoots to POA. Ok, back to my room now.

I am glad this thread is about guns, I am a gentleman and don't kiss and tell. My first pistol was a Crossman single shot spring BB gun that looked like a 1911. There was not a bird, rat, mouse or wasp save from that trusty pistol.

Model 29-2

Go big or go home....
My first handgun purchase was this .44 Magnum Model 29-2 in 1977. Still have it and still enjoy shooting it although only a few times a year now, New Years Day and my birthday. This got me into handloading which I still enjoy.

If you count airguns I had a multi pump Crosman before I was ten,somewhere...around I want to say ten or eleven I got into handguns and was given a Beretta .22 short that I believe was the Jetfire a tiny SA pocket pistol.

I've always been a little nuts-my next was a Colt 1911 commander (which I hated) that got traded quick for a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag and I had it for years.

I'm not the type to keep guns forever from when I was "learning" what I liked so that and many others passed through my hands.

Now I buy cheap but effective and I may or may not keep the SD9VE I have, but I do like the bugger :D

Harrington and Richardson 999 breaktop double action .22 revolver.
1977.
Later sold it to my Dad....he always wanted one.

That would be a cut little thing about 14 named Portincia Snodgrass, who took advantage of me when I was but an innocent lad of 13 years. Oh wait this is the gun site. You want to know what caliber my first GUN was.

Ok, my first purchase was of a snub nose .22 in a model and manufacturer that I am almost too ashamed to admit to buying. But I was 19 and that is by chance also what the gun cost.
