Picked up a mint 60-1 a while back and today learned it was shipped in 1985 . It's a 102305 production code as the box states . It doesn't look like it's been fired since new and certainly never sat with cartridges in it . Super clean . I will be taking it to the range next time I go. Was wondering if anyone else has one?

Nice , my other 60 is a plain 1967 one. Is that a 34 third down? I have a 1960 and the 34-1 , the later not fired. The old round butt 34 is a blast to shoot . That 36 target is a rare one! What are those two j frames top right?

They hold up well, yours looks about like new
It's close to new. I traded for it came out ok I think. Traded a snub 686-1 that was in decent shape good shooter with altamont 357 grips and got 300 to boot. Already had a few 686 snubs that were nicer.

I have a N serial number 29-3 that was an Ashland special order! 8/38 barrel . Real nice shooter . You're right about the K frame revolvers being much better at sending lead down range . I'm partial to snub nose and my 19's , the 64 I have are easier on your hands after a box or two. But my 60 is a good little carry if I ever need to go bang

I have a soft spot for the 2" J adjustable sight guns, and so far am making do with a model 34. I would love to come across a centerfire version, but my preferred blue finish models are really hard to find, I might despite my dislike for stainless, settle for a 60-1 ( though they also are not exactly easy to find, but probably a lot easier than the 36/50

K frame like the 15 or 19 just feel good in your hand and just a little bigger

Maybe look around for a 15 or a 19 . 15 being the more reasonable one.

I think you did fine. I would have not expected money to boot with that trade! Here's my Chief Special shipped in 1955.smith Wesson 38 Apr 18 2025 f.webp

I have a couple of them, a 3-in and a 4-in, but mine came with combat finger groove grips on them. I guess the snubby didn't have those but not sure. Pretty good little gun
