What will be your first gun of 2012?

Personally went on a little buying spree just after Christmas picking up a 3" S&W Model 66-2 followed by TC Encore Pro Hunter in 308, and finally a Colt 1911 Rail Gun in 22 LR. My safe runneth over :)

Thursday, I picked up this 3rd Generation Detective Special. I let one slip through my fingers this time last year. Not happening this year. It's one of the cleanest DS's I've seen in a long time.

I picked up a Browning Silver Hunter 20 GA yesterday to use for Duck hunting. I had surgery on my left shoulder last year and now my right shoulder is bothering me so I decided to try a 20 GA. I will take it out tomorrow on the San Francisco Bay NWR to see if it works.

1st post. New to forum, totally new to firearm ownership. 1st purchased gun of my life and for 2012 ....686 P. Concerned about serial #.....I do not see a "P" after serial number....should I?

Cylinder is 7 shot.

First gun of 2012 will be: some form of S&W revolver (640 Pro or model 19 snub or 325 Nightguard)....to add to my meager collection......

I am a 45 year old student (working on elementary teaching license)....so all my money goes for education....:(

But once I graduate....look out forum.....I will be a collecting fool!

Just picked up tonight my first 2012....a 627PC 2-5/8". I'm so stoked!

2012 Purchase

When I first saw this thread, I thought that I didn't have any particular gun on my must have list (other than a S&W 646 if I ever see one in person). My cousin asked me to meet him at last week's Miami Gun Show to help him select a gun for his wife. I helped him select a gun and found this Kriss Vector pistol at the same dealer. It shoots great and has replaced my AR15 pistol as my "briefcase gun."

I never have any "one" specific gun I am looking for.
I am at gun shows every weekend selling holsters, so I always see deals coming down the aisles.
This weekend in Jacksonville, I picked up two guns.
One was a Rossi M720, 44 special, stainless steel 3" barrel for $225.00. It is in really nice condition and locks up tightly.
I have heard about these, and was interested in them, and now I have one.
The other was a like new in box Beretta Tomcat .32 for $175.00.
Although not S&Ws (which I prefer to collect) I couldn't let these pass me by for those prices.
I guess the gun show gods were smiling on me this weekend.
Maybe next weekend in Tallahassee I will find a nice S&W or two.
