Excellent choices there sir! Always wanted a 53 but it's down on my must have list these days. The .41 mag is my favorite caliber, bar none. Ammo is readily available contrary to what people think and write if you know where to look. Also a fantastic round for reloading. Have tons of em from reloading the round for many years. Miss the Dillon 450 I sold (Really Cheap) as it could crank out some serious ammo. Glad I kept the Rock Chucker as I don't shhot it as much but can always load a few hundred rounds on a rainy day Good for everything from rabbits to a brown bear depending on the load. Also a fantastic 2 legged critter exterminator. I've now taken 40 deer with my .41 mags. If it'll work really well on a 200 lb. deer it will do a job on a person intent on harming you.

If it was down to three revolvers my choices would be:

3" 657 - My do everything revolver/round capable of taking any 4 legged animal on North America. Is also a very capable winter carry weapon when people are all bundled up.

3" 66-2 - Great all around caliber. Plenty of ammo and a great deer/SD revolver. Extremely accurate out to 100 yards if the eyes are fresh and I've had no coffee.

34 snubbie - Lots of cheap ammo and very accurate for a snubbie. Easy to dial in loads with the adjustable sights. Also a breeze to pack and not a big noise maker if you want to be in stealth mode.

If it was down to one revolver my choice would be:

3" 66-2 - Good for just about everything. Light LSWC .38's for small game and some 180 gr. Buffalo Bores for serious hunting. Throw in some 158 gr. Speer Gold Dots and you're very well protected and is a great deer slaying round.

My selection would be:

K22 Outdoorsman pre-war
Pre-29 4" blue
Transition 38/44 Outdoorsman
Transition K38 Blue
66-1 2 1/2 barrel

I'm gonna dream big.
5" Registered Magnum
1st Model 44HE Target
2nd Model 44HE Target
3 1/2" 5 screw .357 Magnum
Model of 1905 DW King Super Target with Roper Thumbrest Stocks

The Model 10 4" Heavy Barrel is on the top of my list.......it is IMO THE quintessential police revolver of the 70's-80's and is still made today. A close tie is the Model 13 4" HB, but I still lean toward the 10.

My list weighs heavily with fixed sight .38 Special duty guns........so I will have to go with the 6" taper barrel Model 10-5, an older 4" .38 M&P just because it's THE classic service revolver, a 1 7/8" Chiefs Special-Model 36, a standby of both police detectives and civilians for more than 50 years, and finally a Model 64 4" HB, just because it's seen so much service with police and security personnel.

I tend to prefer proven, utilitarian duty guns over the "fancy" stuff:D

I'm really fond of no-dash 67s and 64s, the ones with the tapered barrel.

This is the REAL list.....

Model 29-2 6 1/2" Does anything you need a handgun for and can "blow your head - clean off!"

Model 17 6" really the only handgun you'll ever really NEED.

Model 15 4" Best police revolver ever.

Model 42 2" Best snubnose ever.

Add one more because you really like it.

I have been reluctant to open this thread and answer this question as I have fear that my head would explode thinking about it.

BUT, if I opened the safe to grab 5 to put into a bag and run out the door
they would be these 5.

1. 5" Heavy Duty converted to 45 Colt by David Clements.

2. P.C. 460 3'5"

3. 625-3 3" 45 AC.P.

4. Model 16 6" blue 32 S&w long.

5. Model 66-5 3.2" 357 Magnum ,laser grips.

There are others , but these are my current favorites as far
as Smith & Wesson revolvers go.
