What'da Ya Call These Things?

I wonder how many of you guys have been around as long as I have. What'da ya call these things? Humphery Bogart used to carry one. So did Alan Ladd, James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Charlie Chan, The Thin Man, and many others. We used to call them Gats, Roscoes, Heaters, Rods, Equalizers, Pieces, etc. What are some of the other names we used to call guns back in the 40's and 50's that I have forgotten over the years?

Hog Leg (usually pronounced "hog laig"). Usually reserved for a big pistol.
