What's everybody drinking tonight?

Do they still make that?

Lou Saban says Hello, been a fan of the Boston Patriots since 1961. Before that we all were forced to watch the Giants every weekend.

Do they still make that fine quality brew?
After a little research, I guess they do.

Or should I look for the Narragansett;)

I remember Narragansett beer from Navy daze. Great beer till I found something else. Was it Hanley's? Seem to remember a bartender saying it was a Chinese beer Han Lee's.

If you guys look carefully at the ad, you will note the lady is wearing a BROOKLYN DODGERS cap....Schafer was one of two most popular beers in NYC all through WWII and right up to the 70's. We used to buy a case of bottles or cans for $3.50....Budweiser was about .25 cents more. Note the Shamrocks on her wrist and fingers crossed denoting "good luck". What's the connection? Maybe you baseball guys can tell us?

"Schafer is the... one beer to have....when your having more than one." The first "light beer".

Cheers;
Lefty

We used to get Schaefer beer down here in Nashville back in the mid/late 80s when I was a teen.

99 cent quarts, who could resist?

Tap water cooled by ice made from... tap water. Lifetime teetotaler who also dislikes coffee or tea, and doesn't care for hot drinks of any kind. This leaves cold soda and cold water. I used to drink a lot of soda, but I had to change my ways.

So now it's just ice water.

Lefty, how about Rheingold and Ballantyne?

I'm trying Newcastle Founder's ale tonight. It's not bad, and I like their brown ale a lot, but I'll stick to Yazoo pale ale.

This ad seems to be from the 50s. The Dodgers were the usual late 40s and 50s team that got beat by the Yankees in the Series and their motto was "Wait till next year." Maybe she's hoping that this is the year. In 1955 her lucky charms worked.

Either that or Erskine has two strikes on Musial with the bases loaded and the Bums up by one. Chances are those lucky charms wouldn't have worked in that situation.

Coors tall boys, tater chips & onion dip watch'n supercross.

Ok, keeping my own thread alive; Michelob Amberbock after consuming a nice, thick, grilled over charcoal New York strip. Seriously considering a shot of Maker's Mark as well.

A friend just brought me down a case of real Kentucky Moonshine, Apple pie, blackberry, and lemon. This should be real interesting!!!

when I get home tonight 2 fingers of "Wild Turkey" 80 proof

Ice cold 12 oz can of Mountain Dew . . . just cold enough for frozen bits to be floating around in the can.

Had a Guinness from the can earlier, didn't do anything for me.

I just powered up the espresso machine a moment ago. Maybe two or three doppios will get me through the evening. I put a couple of books on network security in the Kindle two days ago, and now it's time to sit down with the reader, a legal pad and pencil, and dive in.
