Whats my M&P 40c worth?

Why did you buy it in the first place? Did you do this spontaneously? Didn't you try it out somewhere or even get a feeling at the gunstore?

If not, shoot it! Maybe you'll find that you like it. You won't depreciate it by much and if you sell it at a loss, figure it as 1). A rental fee 2). A lesson not to buy something unless you really want it.

I think that is well worth $100-$200 if I learn from it.

...but that's up to you.

I have no idea what that is. I was not a fan of glock. Just doesnt fit my hand. I have really tiny hands. Is there a way to tell if I got a standatd and an LEO version?

Maybe try the smallest grip adapter? Grip changes significantly from largest to smallest.

A LEO gun does not have the Fed excise tax included in the price, so it's $50-$75 cheaper to buy. It's the same gun, just has the extra mag, & no excise tax. When we sold them at work we had to get the ID to make sure the gun went to LEO/first responder/military etc. But since they sold for less, we paid less for them when taken in on trade. GARY

Here in Nor*Cal this gun goes for $535 - $565, if you can even find them in stock. The extra mag is a plus but don't expect to get what you paid for it. 44mag.com has the full size .40 mags in stock right now for $29.99 and with an inexpensive adapter you have extra mags for practice.
Good luck.

I paid $550 shipped for my 40C, it had Trijicon HD sights, 4) 10 round mags, Apex DCAEK, Apex AEK Trigger and Apex Ram.

Locally M&P 40C pistols sell for $455 at a police supply store. They come with 3 mags & Trijicon night sights. The cost without Trijicons is $398. That's the LEO/Security/Military price. The trouble with buying like that is the long wait. It seems that those stores are low priority.

I am confused by your Glock reference. Can you please explain that?

Have you thought about using the smallest sized backstrap AND a Hogue Handall?

Regards,

Dave

Someone mentioned a glock in here. I kind of got side tracked.

To clarify my post:

That gun cost me $399 plus $20 FFL new with three mags, on my hip, done.

If you want to get $500 for it as a used but unfired gun, it wouldn't be worth it to me.

That's what you're up against.

And some people will be skeptical as to why you are selling an unfired gun. You say it's too big for your hands, and too big to carry. Did you try the replacement back straps? Did you handle the gun before you bought it? Do you have a holster that you have tried to carry the gun in? Why aren't you selling that too?

When questions start to pile up, people become suspicious that something is amiss. You guys know what I mean?

Tried holding it with different backstraps. It fit but was still too heavy and wide. I wanted a Springfield XDs or Shield but they didnt have them and I got talked into the 40c.

Fallhunter:

Is the recoil of the .40 S&W caliber too much for you? A lot of people do well with the 9mm, but find the .40 caliber to be too "whippy". You do know that you can easily convert your 40C from .40 S&W to 9mm easily by just switching barrels and magazines - don't you?

Regards,

Dave

No. I shoot the full size .40 just fine. I just wanted something small. Really small. Like I said it was somewhat an impulse and somewhat talked into it.

Maybe trade it in for a Shield? Double stack going down to a single stack configuration may work better for you.

Good luck,

Dave
