Just wondering what you guys think the ultimate shield set up would be, money no object, and considering anything you wanted on it was actually available on the market?

Apex parts
Slide mods
Sights
Which laser
Larger mag capacity
Match barrel
Ported/compensated
Threaded barrel
Grips
Finish
Recoil spring weight changes
Scandium slide
Red dot sight
Tactical rail mounts
Caliber conversion to say like 10mm or 357 sig
Ect....
You get the idea, if you could have anything you can imagine on your shield, what kind of monster would you create?

I'm kind of a "less is more" type of guy. The changes I made to my nts Sheild are: Ameriglo front night sight w/orange ring, Talon grip wrap and Apex duty/carry kit. That's it for me, in the past I had a Colt Officers ACP .45 that I sent to Novak's for a whole bunch of work but that's long gone as I favor 5" 1911s.

This Shield is a great pistol for my purposes as I have it and if I had unlimited funds I buy a whole bunch of ammo LOL!

Apex parts: Not needed, don't really want them on my SD pistol, but others think they're necessary.
Slide mods: Not needed
Sights: Would be nice to have a factory Night Sight option
Which laser: Not needed, but a LaserGrip, or side mount like the Laserlyte side mount (No Special Holster needed)
Larger mag capacity: Defeats the whole purpose
Match barrel: Pretty much just marketing hype for pistols.
Ported/compensated: Not on my SD pistol
Threaded barrel: Eh.... Okay
Grips: I don't need 'em on mine, but people seem to like Talons
Finish: Current finish is fine.
Recoil spring weight changes: No problem with the Factory spring.
Scandium slide: LOL... Why?
Red dot sight: On a Subcompact CC pistol? Too small (The sight window, that is).
Tactical rail mounts: Nah.
Caliber conversion to say like 10mm or 357sig: Sure... Make all appropriate calibers available... Including .45

I'm a man of simple utilitarian needs.
I like it as it is. If I didn't... I wouldn't have bought it. ;)

I have an M&P40 FS which I bought used on a police trade-in & an M&P40C which I bought new. Both are completely stock except for factory Trijicon sights on the full size & Glow-On luminous paint which I painted on the sights of the compact. If I were to ever get into competitive shooting I'd probably consider APEX trigger mods. Both of my handguns are for SD & home defense & they shoot well enough as is. I'd rather spend my sparse funds on ammo, targets & range time. I've already spent too much on holsters & belts but I use them all depending on how I'm dressed at the time.

The only mods to my Shield 9's is to black out the white dot sights and that's just personal preference.

It's a compact SD pistol, not an Olympic target gun etc. KISS applies in my opinion. YMMV

This has been my issue with a lot of questions I see posed here. Why would you buy a gun that doesn't work for you? Seems a better idea to buy a gun that works for you rather than buying one that doesn't and keep spending money to make it fit. YMMV...

Viridian Green Laser, custom kydex IWB holster, pearce extensions on 8 rd mags, talon grips, I shoot 124 grn. bullets and can readily hit 4" steel @ 20 yds. all day !
It's a great gun without anything, nothing is needed, just personalized to my "wants".

This is basically what I'm planning to do with mine except I'm looking at a set of 10-8 sights (blacked out rear with a red fiber optic on the front).

I like the sights and grip Shield 9mm being blind in my left eye and left-handed Started shooting right-handed was different but I like the 9mm round for price and recoil I don't use a laser

Hi Vis sights cause my eyes aren't what they used to be, Apex duty/carry kit because I like the consistency with my other M&P's and Talon grips because I think they feel good.

Talon Grips. That's all you need. Unless you have a very heavy trigger that you don't want. An Apex sear will cure that.
