What's the most Beautiful Revolver?

I think my .45 cal of 1950 is kind of pretty.

My new S&W Model 57 in 41mag, with a 6" barrel in that world famous S&W Nickel finish. I now took off the pachmayer grips and installed the orginal wood grips back on it. I also have its smaller brother model 58 with 4" barrel in 41mag too, also in nickel finish.

A pencil barreled K frame is one of my favorites but I have to say the 27's are the most beautiful of the double action breed.

Pythons are a close second or third.

Gotta like the Chiefs Special and even the Colt DS.

That said, I like the Colt SAA. too.

Heck I even find a Ruger Flat Top appealing in its rugged kind of elegance.

I could go on. How about the Remington Army? and as mentioned the Colt Navy.

My choice on the most beautiful is the Colt Peacemaker.

The most beautiful revolver is the S&W Model 10 because it is a very humble and very modest revolver and that is why it is beautiful because it is so humble and so modest.

For me this is a no-brainer. The most beautiful revolver on the face of planet Earth is my Lew Horton 3" N frame 24-3 .44 spl.
It is the one on the left in both pics. A close runner-up might be my Ruger SP-101 stainless 3" .357 mag.

Course now I'm partial to the single six cowboy guns of the old west but I'm not counting them in this case. I love 'em all so much I could never even pick a top 10 let alone a single favorite.

All these revolvers are beautiful, classic, even sexy...

For me, though, what I think would be the most all-time beautiful revolver is one that I don't think exists: a Colt Python 3" barrel with round butt and fixed sights, fully engraved, with stag grips.

I suppose one could be made if I had the money.

Mine is my favorite.

Actually th Colt SAA is about the top of the list. Another great revolver eye candy thread. The 1861 Navy is neck and neck with the SAA.

Hi Walkin Jack, What designates the S&W to be a Lew Horton? Did he make special factory orders? When I was a kid my brother in law would take me into Hortons gun shop in Framingham and we would spend hours in there. My brother in law new him well and he would work the counter sometimes. Great old memories.

MAXIMUMLAW, you could be right. Thread didn't say Smith & Wesson, maybe he assumed...

Perfect Classic walnut magnas. Buy a silver Tyler-T grip, and the package is now complete. :)
