What's the most sensuous music for you?

My wife and I always play the Star Spangled Banner before bed.

Do you "stand at attention?"

For a song, it's hard for me to imagine any that is more moving than Marlene Dietrich singing Lili Marleen

In classical music, I think it might be a tie between the evocative cannon fire of Tchaikovsky's Overture of 1812

and the hypnotic repetitiveness of Ravel's Bolero

- Maurice Ravel BOLERO - Wiener Philharmonic - YouTube

Interestingly enough, Ravel never intended Bolero to be performed. It was a study in orchestration. Love the false overtones he created. LOVE THEM.

Lots of great music listed here.

For me, what's most sensuous changes.

But I almost always go back to Mahler, Shostakovich, Britten, Host, Vaughn Williams, Lauridsen, Whitacre, Brahms (check that movement 2 of Symphony 5) Arvo Part, and Hildegard von Bingen.

anything by richard wayne penniman (ready teddy), jerry lee lewis (great balls of fire) or the rolling stones ("i cant get no satisfaction".

OK-OK If I have to, I will admit that I love Enya "Only Time" "Silent Night" and" May It Be." Haunting, ethereal music. And what the heck, Journey frontman Steve Perry "Foolish Heart" as well as "Open Arms' and "Faithfully" bring back fond memories. Rock on old people! (I are one)
