I was born in 67, so a wee bit to young to serve. Anyway, by the end, I was old enough to remember a few things like---the music.

I've been wanting to ask this for a long time and was wondering what is THE song, that reminds you of Nam?

For me its many like:

Chapel of Love, Wooly Bully, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Paint It Black, Smoke On the Water etc.

The song by Country Joe and the Fish with the lyric Next stop is Vietnam, were all gonna die. Some guy on the plane convinced the stewardess to play it through the intercom on flight to country sept 1970. Lifers shot out of their seats like rockets Actually there was a stop on Okinawa first..Lifers usually over react. LOL True story.

steelslaver, "Feel Like I'm Fixing To Die Rag[ Next stop Vietnam.I'm a "lifer" and I didn't "overreact" I like it well enough to have the complete lyrics here at the compuker.
I think someone should have written I Left My Heart In APO San Fran.
As a Helicopter Gun and Scout Pilot I always liked "the sampan song["Shall We Gather at the River"] Nick

LOLA, it was playing on the headphones as I watched the Vietnam coastline disappear as I was on the plane heading home. Still gives me goose bumps when I hear it on the radio.

And YES I know what the song is about, but it was the one playing at the time .
