What's the story behind your User Name?

as a professor once said...
the reat is obvious, and is therefore left as an exercise to the student.

Bear has been my nick name all my life,as I'm not getting any younger I figured that it was an fitting name. The Lovely and Charming once told me that my name as fitting as I was tender unless I was woken suddenly or dinner was late then the cranky bear tented to come out.

Well - Although I don't care for his ice cream, I really like the music :)

First three letter of my first name and first three letters of my last name. It was my User ID at work from around 1980. I got used to it and figured why not........

Black Sheep, every family has one!

When I look around at family reunions I don't see one, so I figure it must be me...

As I have an affinity for S-prefix model 29's, it only seemed fitting. And, I couldn't believe it was available.

I've carried one for almost 20 years on the job.

It was the best I could come up with when I made an eBay account, and I used it here to simplify things.

My first name 'Colin' was already taken so I chose Cyrano from the size of my proboscis. I should have used both my first and last names but didn't think of it.

Dont mean nuthing. Feral rhyms with merril, my name. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I am "Bogus Bill" elsewhere

I am a member of a shrinking minority -I love the white stuff. . .

-lots of it
-all winter long
-morning, noon, and night

My family calls me "S&W", or gun nut, obviously both were taken. Just added my initials at the beginning.

My first cruiser style motorcycle was a Kawasaki Vulcan. One of my friends wife started calling me Vulcan Bob and it sorta stuck. I now have two Harley's and the Vulcan, but Vulcan Bob it is.

It's always fun to find out the reasons behind people's User Names, especially on gun forums.

This being the best Smith & Wesson forum on the web, I chose mine from the first names of the founders of S&W - Horace Smith & Daniel B. Wesson.

What's your story?

I've been riding motorcycles for 40 years, and for half of that time my primary ride has been a BMW motorcycle, so I identify very closely with that brand. And, I was born in 1953.
