What's up with the 9mm follower design change?

I'm still waiting for the two magazines I sent S&W 6 months ago. They sent me two new followers which still didn't work, then they told me to send them my two magazines which I did. I guess they are sending out the new followers first and those of us who sent in our magazines will have to wait for them to install the followers in them and send them to us. Pretty frustrating!

Gosh, I never followed up on my post from 11/09/13. Since I received this Magazine from Midway I have used it many many times and have never had any issues at all.

M&P 9mm magazine follower issues

I have the same issue with the new style follower in my 9mm M&P magazines. The old factory original magazines that came with the firearm and an additional magazine a purchased at the same time work fine. The newer style follower will slip past the tab on the action lock/release that it was designed to catch. With these new followers, I find it very common that the follower will bind with the action lock/release when I attempt to remove an empty magazine from the receiver. The newer style empty magazine fails to eject and must be pulled out which is both irritating and undesirable. This needs to be corrected by Smith and Wesson.
