So, did you get one?

I bought twelve pounds of salmon today for BBQ on Thursday. Along with a pound of smoked mussels, a pound of shrimp, and a few other assorted goodies. I've got some flatlanders visiting on Thursday that wouldn't know seafood if it bit them on the butt. Time to edumacate them.
 
I got a Colt's Shooting Master revolver in 38 Special. Made in 1928, same year my father was born and it also has 28 in the serial number twice. It's in great shape for being 80 years old. It's one that will be more of a safe queen than a shooter.
They are in the New Service family of revolvers and have the adjustable sights used at that time.
 
Oh what the heck, I do not like hummingbirds, I think they should learn the words.

Joni I acquire a Colt New ---wait, I can put this in a new post.
 
Joni, I acquired a Colt New Service in 45 Colt, manufactured in 1939, I think it is the service pistol of a New York State Trooper. Shot it last week, for a seventy year old revolver, it shot very well.

If people are happy welcoming newbies then great.Who Cares about the post count?It is that welcoming commitee that is the first interaction of new members and I would like to thank them all for making that initial experience a positive one.This group accepts everyone regardless of our differences and that is a wonderful thing.God Bless......Mike
 
This seemed like the perfect thread for this sort of nonsense, so folks, this is my gratuitous post count increase....(drum roll here please), Ta Dah! Post number 500. Compared to most of you I am such a rookie but what the hell. Think I'll go pour a nice cold draft to celebrate. Cheers!
