Whats you favorite shooter S&W & Why

I'd have to say it's one of these 624 ND's, probably the 4".

For many years, over 20, it was this custom made 629-2.

Here's another highly customized 29-3 that when you send it, they go where you thought they would. A real pleasure to shoot.

.357 was my favorite for 45 years but the last couple of years I have gone to .44. I have a 6 1/2 in., 29-2 for a shoulder holster and a 4 in., 29-3 for a belt holster. It is hard to sit in a chair or drive with a 6 1/2 barrel in a belt holster. Larry

I have a variety of fine shooter revolvers (and autos). However, hands down, my favorite shooters are my two 625's in .45 ACP:

625-8 JM Special with Simmons Red Dot Sight and Pachmayr Decelerators:

For me, considering all in the house, it would be my wife's heavy bbl (4") Model 64,
which is an old Michigan State Police duty gun.

Shown below wearing the grips it worked the streets with........

If just picking from mine, and this surpises me because I never gave it much thought before,
it would be my Model 36-2.

Both of the above have been worked by Pistolsmith, Teddy Jacobson.

Well, 1 old 0311 came closest to giving my answer, but if it had to come down to one CF and one RF, the CF would probably have to be my 2" beater M15 with Rogers grips, because it's accurate and comfortable (and comforting with FBI loads). The RF would probably be my 6" K22 with Pachmayr Presentations, although my M43 with diamond Magnas and a Tyler does pretty well, too, with two hands, and hasn't choked on any ammo yet, unlike the K22.

I like shooting my 25-2, 6-inch. It will shoot all my reloads without a hitch and I don't have to crawl around on the ground picking up brass (unlike my 1911 pistols).

2 of my nickel 57s - 4inch with the smooooothest Performance Center trigger, and an 8 3/8 that is hands down the most accurate & comfortable shooter I've ever handled. I truly enjoy loading ammo and dispensing it from those 2 !!

Mine is a pre model 10 4" from 1958. Second is my Model 63 5" .22 LR.

My favorite S&W? Easy. My S&W 18-2. It is beautiful. It is exceptionally well fitted and finished. It's balance and and handling qualities are without equal. I've thoroughly enjoyed using it at the range and in the field. It's accuracy with a variety of .22 LR loads is startling. It have provided me with many happy hours of pure unmitigated pleasure. In firing countless rounds by myself, my daughters and my brother this little revolver has always been perfectly reliable never having a single misfire. It's double-action trigger pull is smooth and easy. The single-action trigger pull is as clean and crisp fully measuring up to the legend of S&W quality. If I positively had to hit a mark at any distance out to 50 yds. or even beyond, and if I could only have one single shot, I'd use the 18-2 and have every confidence that I would make the hit. I can shoot it to my hearts content without any care about how much money I've spent for ammunition. Nowadays I've usually got it on the seat of the car as I drive around out and about in the countryside visiting church members. I commonly go through about a brick of ammo each month... maybe more depending on how my schedule runs. I am so grateful to own and use it. For me it is the perfect S&W revolver. Of all the handguns I own, it is my joy and pleasure.

My favorite(s) are my 29-2 and my 28-2. I am the original owner of both. Both have 4" barrels.

My favorite is the model 15 Combat Masterpiece. That is because it is the first real sidearm that I ever had that was essentially my own. I had inherited a pre-1957 model 12 and a Colt Official Police from my father-in-law. However, the Model 15 was my issue sidearm with LASD. I was formally trained with this gun and it is one of Smith and Wesson's best. Accurate, easy to shoot and maintain, it is the epitome of Smith and Wesson revolver making craft. It will be the model that I will concentrate on if I ever get serious about collecting.

Got a 3" model 65 just like it. That's probably my favorite, too.

+1 for the 3" Model 65. I've got one that has been converted to DAO and has a SWEET smooth trigger. Not the prettiest revolver I own by any means but well balenced, accurate and easy to carry.

My 2 most shot handguns would be my 617 4", and my old beater Police/Guard trade in 64-3. The 617 for the obvious reason, it is cheap to shoot a lot, and does not require a lot of my time to reload for it.

The 64 is the roughest gun I own. It is however in better than new condition mechanically. It has been to see Ron Power. He went over it from end to end. It has near perfect alignment, and lock up. It has Ball Loc, and Chamfered Chambers. It has Wolff Springs, and Polished Internal parts. In other words it runs like a swiss watch. It still has a couple small things I could have done to it, like a Strain Screw Loc. I will have Ron take care of that on my next visit to Power Custom. The 64 is my SSR gun. I run more centerfire ammo through it than all my other centerfire handguns combined. It shoots great, and I shoot it well for an old guy. I have under $450 in it total, counting the work on it. That is the best $450 I have spent on a handgun so far.
