I'm a big fan of 1911s. I drool over those Wilson combat supergrades all the time (oh hey look at my profile picture). I'd love to own one, but at $5,000 I know I'd be afraid to take it out of the safe. My Sig 1911 is great and all, and if I'm pulling a trigger the Sig runs flawlessly. I can't justify buying my dream gun, and I can't find a practical use for it. I'll eventually put Wilson parts in my Sig and customize it a little, since I can't find a reason to have two of the same gun.

Other dream guns of mine have a plan of action, and are a lot more obtainable. My shotgun of choice is a riot gun, and a Mossberg. My eyes are on the Mossberg 500 mariner, and I've seen those under $500.

My ar is an m&p-10, and I'll have the base for my build before the end of February, and it'll be fully built by summer.

As far as other semi auto sporting rifles, I like the fn fal better than the ak47, and I like the ak47 better than the ar15, but that build is lower on my list.

I know, I'll get a revolver eventually. My eyes are on the m&p10 then the Mossberg 500 then the revolver is next in line. I just haven't researched them and picked one out. I like dad's 357mag with the 6" barrel and I like the chief's special j-frame. I just haven't wrote them down on my list

What's your dream gun and/or next project going to be?

non-realistic... HK mp5 auto. Realistic....performance center SW1911 custom, product# 170343. Not a 1911 guy, but this gun could make me one. Best looking pistol I've ever seen. She'll find her way home one day, just not today.

My dream revolver is one that shoots 20 times without reloading, like the ones in the movies do.

My dream semi is one that blows up buildings, cars, and bad guys without ever missing, like the ones in the movies do.

Now, as far as real life goes, if I could really have the gun I want, it would be a Ed Brown Kobra Carry, with my initials on both sides of the slide and no other markings except a custom serial number consisting of my initials and 4 numbers that have significance to me.

My dream gun is my dad's S&W model 28 4" serial # S307656 that he gave away. I'd give just about anything to get it.

...or that fully automatic pistol with flush fitting magazines that have 100 round capacity. That was a cool gun.

And if it's a dream gun, the serial number can be your first middle and last name, no numbers are required.

I hadn't thought about that...that would be cool! I might be able to remember that. :p

Yeah I picture a cartoon version of the police holding the gun saying "I wonder who this belongs to... Oh look, a clue!"

I always thought the polished stainless steel or nickel 1911s and PPks would be nice presentation guns, if I had one of those glass coffee tables with guns inside. Realistically one day I might find a, well kept, used M&P R8. I don't see myself ever buying a new one.

I'd honestly like to have an authentic H&K 416 - not a civilian version, but a real honest to goodness mil-standard.

I also recently got to play with an H&K UMP 45 at my gun range, and let me tell you, that thing is a beast.

From a revolver perspective, I'd love to have a Colt Python - but I'd not be able to keep it in the safe. I'd have to play with it, as I'm not a collector for collecting sake. I want to play with my toys.

Actually, I am pretty easy to please. A 342 with no lock would do it. ;)

Admittedly, my existing 642-1 with a titanium cylinder installed is pretty close.

But, it would be fun to have the real thing.

Actually a pair would be best since SWMBO would also want one. :o

Now, if I win a lottery, we can turn this dream into reality. Yeah, sure, kid . . .

LOL! Maybe I could make the ID even easier by having my fingerprints engraved on the frame somewhere. :p

I stand corrected! Anything full auto puts a boyish grin on my face. Well, as long as somebody else paid the $12000 for the gun and they're supplying the ammo.

Some dreams are unrealistic. I'd take a 50 cal machine gun and armor piercing and incendiary rounds, or a mark 19 automatic belt fed grenade launcher with high explosive and incendiary rounds... Or the gun that the a-10 ground pounder is attached to.
