Hey guys! :)

I’m looking for a relatively compact but capable every day carry light. I really know very little about the new flashlights. I’m wanting something tough and comfortable enough to clip on my pocket yet still strong and good.

What are you all using? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I carry a Fenix RC05SE every night at work.

Fenix RC05 SE Rechargeable Flashlight - Fenix Lighting

It's 4 inches long, .75 inches OD and 450 lumens. It has a built in recharger that uses a USB cord so you can recharge it almost anywhere. I've had it for two years and haven't had to replace the battery. Fenix says the battery is good for 500 recharging cycles and it has a 5 year repair warranty.

Hahaha aren’t you funny! This is a serious question, get lost!

Doesn't take much to get you going does it.

For under $300, there are quite a few choices:

A buddy of mine has a Lumintop GT micro, but it has a lanyard. It's $50 super bright. There's a new one from them FW3A, it has a clip and it's about the same price.

I have a GT mini. I like Lumintop lights.

Oh Goody, another flashlight thread.
I'll ask the same question and expect no answer as I have the last so many times.
Is there a small LED light that doesn't refract badly in smoke, dust or fog?

Meanwhile I'll keep my incandescent Surefire Nitrolon handy, anywhere from $40 - $60, bulky but indestructible.

Streamlight Protac 1L/1AA. 350 lumens peak output, it has a low setting of 50 lumens and a strobe feature (which I could do without). $35-$40. I've been carrying it for a year and a half. You can use either 1 CR123 or 1 AA alkaline battery. The CR123 give more and longer light output. Tough light, it's survived two cycles through the washing machine.
