Whats your favorite caliber?

well Favorite calliber?s
Handgun
.38/.357
.44spl/mag
Rifle
6.5X55

.41 magnum Ruger Blackhawk for hiking in bear country
.40 4013TSW for hiking in human country
.22 LR Remington model 34 NRA for plinking, squirrels, etc.
7mm magnum Winchester 70 for the big stuff

Hands down the .22 but if I had to list, I would adopy our esteemed moderator's list and reasonings in their entirity. I would also add 12ga for the exact same reasons.

Try the mom and pop store in Bumphouque Louisiana and ask for a box of .357 sig, some 7mm-08 and a box of .28 gauge spreader loads and see where that gets ya! :D

I cast my vote along these same lines too.
Hard to beat the .22... Bang, bang, bang for cheap..
38/.357 hard to beat.. Super versatile.
And a 30-06 good for most any game critters, and it's easy
to find nearly anywhere.
And few burglars want to get their front end aligned with a .12 gauge,
and has been known to catch a bird or two when not busy watching
the house.

But.. my most used pistol these days is a .40 S&W... I like that
it's a fairly wide load, and my artificial plastic pistol holds a lot of em.. :|
They always say, safety in numbers.. :)
If I can't hit it with the first five shots, I've got twice that still to go. :\

I'm with DeadAye on this one.... 50cal BMG.

Especially enjoy shooting the M1 incendiary rounds with my Boys AT rifle rebarreled in .50 cal. Incredibly accurate even with iron sights. Love the "flash - bang" on impact.

However probably shoot more .38 special target loads than anything else. Never go the range without my K-38 or Colt OMM.

Although im a better shot with .38's, I have my gun with me in a lot of woods/camping scenarios and feel a lot more prepared with .357's on me. So, for that reason I choose .357 magnum. I mean I was a boy scout. It's all about preparation. Other than that I have a lot of fun and feel very prepared with a 12ga

I would have to say the .357 mag because of it's versatility and .30-06 for it's big bang for the buck.

While I usually take .22, 9mm, 40S&W, and .45acp to the range with me, I tend to shoot more .40S&W then other calibers. The .40 is probably followed by .22lr, .45acp and lastly 9mm.

As far as cartridge unloaders go it's generally; a Beretta 92FS that converts from 9mm to .22lr and .40S&W, a SIG P226R that does the same and a S&W 1911 & 4506-1 for .45acp. My S&W blued revolvers go less often but are the same calibers, subsituting .38 spec. for the .40S&W.

I do reload all my centerfire calibers.

Used to be the .45 ACP. Now I find that the .38 Special fills all my handgun needs. In rifles, I like the .303 Brit, just because.

Never thought about a "favorite". All my guns have a use and purpose, so I guess my favorite is the one I'm using at the time. 38/357 and .22 get the most use.

In centerfire handguns, Seems I've morphed from my longtime favorite .45 Auto, to the 38 Special. Based on the numbers of guns in my safe.

In centerfire rifles, there's only one. The 30-06. In my case, its in my 1944 M1.

But never forget the .22LR!

Believe it or not the .38 Special has become a favorite of mine as well! It does its job without a lot of fuss and I don't have to hunt for brass in the weeds anymore!
Rifle: 7.62x54R, it's just wicked cool, especially out of a Model 44 carbine.
Shotgun: 12 Gauge, and you know why.;)
But I hafta give both the .41 Magnum and .44 Special honorable mention. They do occupy my imagination from time to time! Dale
