Whats Your Favorite Christmas Song

For some reason, Darlene Love's rendition of "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home" always gets me in the Chistmas spirit. Wish I could figure out how to post the video of her final performance on the David Letterman Show, truly inspiring.

She's also in one of my favorite Christmas movies, Lethal Weapon.

I have an affinity for classical music so I love to hear J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio and "The Trumpet Shall Sound" from Handel's great Oratorio, Messiah is better than the more famous "Hallelujah Chorus."

...and of course, it wouldn't be the holiday season without this all time classic.:D
YouTube

I told my wife that you also are a fan of Porky Pig's Blue Christmas.

Her comment? "That's not kosher!" :D :D

Ona more serious note, I have warm memories of growing up and attending the candlelight service on Christmas Eve at my church. During the service, we sang all of the old Christmas hymns and we usually ended with "Silent Night."

In college one year, a group of us went around to several of the dorms, caroling. Another great memory. As several of our members have noted, some of those memories are bittersweet, due to the loss over the years of loved ones.

Martina McBride singing " O Holy Night! She is outstanding. and can bring a stadium of 20k, to a complete silence, until it's over. then the thunderous cheer erupts. She is outstanding. Go to one of her Christmas concerts, if you get a chance. It will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling, and going Wow!
Google and listen to her sing it. I think you will like it.

My Mom's favorite was "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Christina Rossetti. This is my 4th Christmas since Mom passed, and I need to listen to that song at least once each season, even though it is not all that popular these days.

My favorite is "O Come, All Ye Faithful".

Found a new one I like...
