I am from Missouri. I enjoy fishing for big cats. The blues and flatheads can get pretty good size. I also enjoy catching slabside bluegill on ultralight tackle with 2 pound test. I can't think of many fish that have more fight in them though than a smallmouth on 6 or 8 pound test.
What's the biggest fish you have caught on the lighest line? I was fishing for bait fish in the shallows at Lake of the Ozarks with an ultralight spinning combo with 2 pound test line. Line started peeling off. I ended up with a 12 pound carp. I did not use him for bait or for food.
My brother caught a 45 pound flathead pitching a crawfish bait for bass with 8 pound test line. When he got it to the boat he asked me to grab it. I told him, "You caught it. You grab it." He laughed and asked if I was afraid of a fish. I told him that's not a fish; it's a dinosaur.
And let's try to avoid "fish stories" when sharing your fish stories please, gentlemen...and gentlewomen.
Just pretend this is witty.
