What's Your Preferred Method for Gun Sales?

You are absolutely correct, we couldn't do business. In the last 10 years or so, I have sold more than 40 handguns, and I have a verifiable paper trail which protects me should any of those guns wind up in a crime scene. I have had no problems with my condition of sale, and those who do just don't get to buy what I'm selling.

How many of them actually have ended up at a crime scene?

You're free to do what you want, but in many states a paper trail is not needed to remove you from suspicion. The legal minimum is just that, legal. If one of the guns I sold ended up at a crime scene and the cops showed up at my door, I'd point them to the legal statute concerning private gun sales and tell them to get lost.

SS card is only required to be used or given to the SSA. For a job or income reporting.

Heck you do not need it for the ATF form??

There are no real rules in Florida. Just knowingly can not sell to someone who is not allowed but how do you know that?

They must be a resident and a verbal yes is enough.

I have sold on Gunbroker, forum ads, classified nickle ads and word of mouth. If the transaction is ftf I generally get and give a handshake. More than that is not legally required in MT for resident transactions. i would not sell a handgun to someone with an out of state plate, ask for ID when selling one but do not record it. Idaho had on it's books that it was illegal to ask for a Drivers Licence for Id but it was rarely used.
