When did you last buy a Brand New S&W ?

A comment in another thread got me wondering ...... how long has it been since you last bought a "brand spanking new" S&W ??

I bought my last "factory new" S&W in 1989. It was a 6 inch 686.

When did the rest of you last buy a new one ???

1975. I bought a new nickle 39 for $240. My then brother in law (a really good guy) called it something considered REALLY not PC.

My last "new" S&W was in about 2003. A model 617, 10 shot. I bought it for bowling pin shoots, and it does great. I'm not a fan of stainless guns, or plastic, so it is the only one I own. I might consider a model 63, or performance center gun; though. I like blue metal, and wood stocks.

Several years ago when J&G had the 10-13 for sale. I've tried since to buy new but with the lock and all I just can't pay that kind of money for what you get.

The last Smith I got was a LNIB 29-2 Nickel 8 3/8 barrel. Picked that one up last week. If Smith would make them like that now I would have more new Smiths.

March 17, 2008 I bought a brand new 1911 stainless .45 ACP. Prior to that was a new PC 945 purchased on February 24, 2007. The only other brand new S&W handgun was a model 669 I bought in 1979. All of my revolvers were used and all but one have pinned barrels.

I can't remember in which order, but I have only bought three "New" S&W's. They were a 16-4, a 547 and 610, all in about 1989.

When S&W comes out with a 1911 in .40cal that will be my next new one.

I will never buy new as long as P&R guns can be repaired or bought. The last new S&W I bought was in 1965. I quit playing with plastic guns in 1953 when I was 12 years old. Larry

In '06 I bought a brand new 686, only new one I ever bought, just wanted a brand new one.

Oh and a PPK\S if that counts.
