When was my 5906 born?

Hi everyone, I looked through my S&W catalog 5th edition and can't seem to locate when my 5906 was born. It starts with TCFxxxx. It was an old police trade in and has the squared trigger guard and rear adjustable sights with the protective ears.

Any help is appreciated.

Most likely late 1988 / early 1989 best to ask SW at [email protected]

Mine is a TDA prefix and the date on the original box label is 8/14/1989. Yours would be older than that.

I have one of the earlier 5906's with squared trigger guard and a serial pre-fix of "TES"
