Where Are The Car Guys?

LAKOTA169 - What are you driving these days?
I have a '05 Dodge Magnum R/T (Hemi) and a '37 Plymouth Business Coupe. My wife has a 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T (5.9l) and a '10 Subaru Outback.

Took the '37 out for the first time this year. Pulled into my drive at the end of October, put a cover over the car. It's sat in the drive all that time without starting it or pulling the battery. Today I uncovered it, cranked the engine with the key off to get gas up to the carb. Put about a spoonful of gas down the carb and after about 30 seconds of cranking, it started right up. My magnum has sat since December, and I had to put a charger on it to start it.

I can't post a pic right now but if there are any MOPAR guys interested in a 1974 Jensen Interceptor ,440 HP Commando ,<than30,000 K miles, numbers matching, please contact me. Health forces sale. [email protected]

Don't mean to keep bringing this post up, but here's the pictures of my 1957 Chevy and 1965 Impala Convertible.
The '57 was my dad's until he passed away and the '65 I bought myself a few years back. Then after it got stolen
and banged up in 2004, I had it restored about 4 years ago, I believe.

Our 2 current summer cars are a '94 25th Anniversary Trans Am convertible w/ 33k miles. Fairly stock (you could still eat off anything underneath) just an intake, brakes and suspension work (Koni's, stiffeners, bushings and lowered about an 1 inch) and an all JL audio stereo set up. I bought it for my wife on for our 25th anniversary (appropriately).

I drive an '09 Pontiac G8 GT with an engine and tranny tune, intake, brakes, Pedders suspension kit, under drive pulley, 180* thermostat, etc. and vastly upgraded (JL Audio) stereo.

Yes, I sold the Cobra on Sunday. I sold it for my son. He is 3 years old, and he will not be able to ride in the car, legally or safely, for at least another 5 years. He gets so upset when I drive it...it is a very selfish car when you have a young family.

Sooooo, in the meantime, I bought something that will seat 4, will allow a child seat in the back, and has a factory roll bar :)

I picked up an original 1967 Shelby GT-350.... it has a pretty snotty Hi-Po 289.

Beautiful Shelby right there! Love those cars.

Is it possible that cars can be more compelling than Smith and Wessons?

Yours in addictions.

Bob

For me, yes. When I travel, thinking about my cars or dogs makes me homesick. They are the reason I am a "homebody."

So far, my guns have not had that effect on me - yet. I do find myself wanting to dry fire my Model 67 a lot. Maybe it's only a matter of time... ;)
