Where do you buy your new smiths?

As far as I know, there is not a single new S&W revolver for sale in the Roanoke valley,,
so, if you want a revolver, it is on line,, or wait for the next gun show.
Black plastic guns are so common, and cheap, they are almost sold in vending machines.

So, IMHO, the answer depends on what you are shopping for,,,
Drive 45 minutes south to Town Gun Shop in Collinsville. They are a full line stocking dealer for Smith and Wesson. They stock almost every regular production revolver Smith is currently making as well as some performance center revolvers. And ask for Brandon if you go, he wants your business and will treat you right. ***Disclaimer: while I am a former employee of the business, I have not been professionally associated with TGS for 15 years now.***

Hope this helps,
Steve

Any new firearm, long or short come from a LGS. I hit a bunch of gun shops but have 2 that I use the most.

FWIW I do not consider big boxes LGS, I do buy ammo and other items from them at times. but as of now no firearms!

I try and give my LGS the opportunity, but most new guns I buy are unusual, limited, and seldom available at my LGS. However the last two semi auto's I bought were at my LGS.

Local Dealer.
I do not buy anything unless I can eyeball , examine and shoot it, otherwise you buying a "pig in a poke" .
Local dealer will handle any problems/returns for warranty etc for me.
I appreciate his service and hope he doesn't get put out of business by all the online sales.

I spent 5-6 months eyeballing new revolvers before buying. I stopped into 4-5 LGS and a few big box stores and handled what they had in stock but none of them carried the 3" 686 Talo that was at the top of my list.
I ended up buying the 3" 686 Talo online for $704.00 and paid the local FFL guy $20 to take delivery. ( I actually bought two them. One for me and the other for my son's wedding present)
The closest thing the local stores had were the 4" 686 for $780- $810 plus sales tax.
