WHERE DO YOU CARRY YOUR KNIFE?

As a general rule I routinely wear a vest. First, because I like to wear vests, dressy vests, casual vests, western vests, lightweight, heavyweight, they change with the seasons and my mood or where I am headed. A Swiss army knife is always in the left pocket and "tactical" knife in the right hand pocket (I hate the term "tactical" but I am so used to hearing it I can't remember another term.) On the very rare occasion that I do not a vest on then the knives find places in pants pockets.

The funny thing is that as a rule I pocket carry my guns so when some jerk asks me if I have a gun I laugh and open the vest - these idiots have no clue. :D

But I admit that sometimes I do belt carry and hide guns under shirts and, obviously, vests. It's just not typical.

It must be the vest because I never wear them and no one has ever asked me if I'm carrying a gun.

Folder clipped to the right front or rear pocket depending on what I'm wearing. Also carry a small fixed blade behind the mag pouch on my duty belt that can be accessed by either hand. The folder is for cutting boxes or cheesecake. The fixed blade is for cutting someone off my gun or my neck.

I have it on good authority that a fixed blade knife works for cheesecake too! ;) :D

I saw this on the forum and had to save it on my tablet for just such an occasion!

I used to carry switchblades in RF pocket. Now I carry a USA made Schrade SP2 in RF pocket to open letters, packages etc.

There is always a USN Kabar in the car.

I have a hard fast rule about knives. NO Chinese knives!! EVER. Scandinavian & German are ok. I am the same way with shoes. USA made. Both are industries decimated by imports

I don't have room in my pockets.

Didnt Jim West keep his in his coat collar? I remember James Coburn in
" Mag. Seven" carried a switch blade up his sleeve. And a character in a Wayne western, kept a Bowie in a sheath on his back. His name was
"Mississippi". James Cann? Same guy in the "Godfather". Got wasted at the toll booth with a Thompson.

My setup is like this RF knife clipped in and keys, LF wallet and flashlight clipped in. On my right hip behind my pants seam is my handgun and the reload is on my left side. My cell phone rides in my RR pocket. I use the knife and the flashlight multiple times a day. My wife used to look at me funny for carrying all of this stuff. Now she looks at me funny if I'm now carrying all of these items.

Whatever works for you...in a practical sense.

Hypothetically, if Canada invades, however, move up to the fencing sword.

ZT folder clipped midline inside waist band. Out of sight, comfortable, easy to deploy and open with either hand if the other becomes disabled or restrained. Learned this courtesy of an inner city street combat educated retired LEO.
