Hey guys. I recently picked up a 3" model 657 that is unfortunately not wearing the original grips it came with. I generally prefer magnas but think this one would be a little more fun with some round butt combat grips on it. Does anyone have any tips on where to find a set besides gunbroker and eBay?

I'm headed to the Big Show in Reno in a couple weeks and am hoping to run across some there but I'd love any other suggestions on where they might be hiding.

$300 or MORE!

You are not going to find them cheap. Figure on paying $300 for a set of factory round butt combat grips.

$300 or MORE!!! Also, I would "try" to find a set that pre date your gun by a month or two. I know it really doesn't matter, but it just makes the hunt more interesting, and those would be more correct for the gun.

There are some grips coming out of Thailand right now that are dead ringers for the originals, except for being made out of different wood. Thai grips used to be ****, but in the last couple of years, they have really gotten their act together. I got mine on EBay and they average around 80.00 or so. I've got Horton N-frame snubs with original grips and some I've put Thai grips on. The size, shape and design are really spot on. Just made of different wood. The medallions even look pretty good now.

I agree completely with this! I, too, have purchased some of these specific Thailand grips and am amazed at how well made and accurate they are to the original factory versions. However, they have been selling quickly and there are only a few N-frame round butt size grips left at this time. If you need the exact name of the seller, do not hesitate to use the forum message system to contact me for it.

Here are some Combats from Thailand. N frame on 629-3 and K frame on 686-4. Neither needed any fitting. I'll buy from them again for sure.

Check EBAY for grips from Thailand if you are on a budget.

They get some wood that we just can't get in the states.

If you want to go all out, get Culina's.

I was able to find some from a member and they should be in the mail soon. I am still interested in the name of the account that the Thailand guy uses though. Might come in handy later.

Thailand grips on Etsy are excellent copy. About 90 bucks. Look better than originals with many more options

Thaliand grips take a couple of months to get here.
I go out of my way to buy American.

I ordered 2 pair of Thailand grips from his Etsy account and it said estimated shipping of 5-16 days and I got them in only 4 days. They left Bangkok Thailand on the 7th and they were delivered to Kansas on the 11th. That's faster than a lot of American companies can compete with.

Thailand grips are v good!
14 days max on my purchases!
All exact fits. Exotic wood.
