Which 3 would you choose?

So many of you may have heard that California may become "shall issue". This would be a great victory for gun rights for all citizens obviously.

Let's assume hypothetically that if California starts issuing CCW's like free states, it may not be as bad a place to live, and you're thinking about moving there. Maybe you got offered a great job, or your wife wants to move there, or you have family there. Whatever it is, hypothetically you are now moving there.

So currently the "may issue" rules stipulate that you can only have 3 guns on your permit that you can carry. You are also limited to 10 rounds, as that law is not changing anytime soon.

Which guns do you choose?

I'm thinking something small; something medium for most normal days; and something bigger, for use outdoors or worse areas of town.

I'll totally believe it when anything positive comes out of California, LOLAL.

California has a LOT to offer. It does however have stupid gun laws, and high taxes.

There are MANY good people there, that love the state, but hate the politics.

This is why the law change could be a really great thing for a lot of people.

The 3 that currently cover 98% of my needs:

Kel-Tec P3AT
S&W 442
S&W 3913

I have others that fill the rare gaps, but these 3 stay loaded in the safe.

Model 19-4 2.5"
Any 1911 A1 .45
Colt Pocket Hammerless .380 (for formal occasions)

I would carry my old reliable Hi Point 9 mm truck/range gun. That way when they change back their minds in a minute, and dog pile on me and take it away, I won't feel so bad.

This is not quite true. The state law makes no reference to how many guns may be on your license. It just so happens that the standard CCW form only has three places for listing guns.

The actual limit is up to the issuing agency. For example, in Kern county, where I live, we are allowed to have up to 10 on our license. It used to be just three, but they increased it last year.

To answer the question though:
1911 5"
1911 4.25"
M&P .45 full size

The issue of only 10 rounds is not an issue with these guns.

Colt 1911 in .45

Shield .40 or 9mm

Springfield XDS .45 or 9mm (<<I cant believe i just typed that)

In that order, and there should also be no issue being limited to 10 rounds with any of the above.

I'd go with the 6906 I been carrying for 20 years, I'd have to get the 10 rd mags I sold awhile back. Next or backup, 640 .38spl. Both would be loaded with "approved" ammo which hasn't been ruled upon yet. I guess I'd carry the H&K USPc .45 if the other two quit, but I shudder at the thought. Joe

In S&W

3913/14..... 7+1 w/ flush fit mag. and 1-2 8rd mags as spares

3" 66 6 .357/38+P w/ 2 Safariland speedloaders

Beretta
92 Compact Type M....... single stack 92 compact 8+1 of 9mm

or

Sig
245 6+1 .45 (can use 8rd 220 mags as spares)

First off, there is no way that I would ever move to California. I don't even like going there to visit.

Having said that, if my state was suddenly taken over by Californians (which is slowly happening, BTW...) and I could only have three carry guns on my CHL and a 10-round limit I would have:

M&P45
M&P9c
Ruger LCR .38+p

Maybe a Bodyguard for small pocket carry, The Shield for every day and a 3913 for a larger gun.

Keep in mind that bad things happen anywhere, not just in the worse areas of town, so you always want to be prepared. I think the Shield would cover you with only one gun.

OK ,,, pot smoking is Only legal in a couple states that I know of.

So either put down the doobie, or you have fallen and bumped your head really hard and need medical help.

Now that is funny right there.... If you can't laugh at this you may as well go to the house. :D :D

A LITTLE MORE SPLAININ PLEASE

Is that ONLY 3 hanguns in total or only 3 cc type guns? Example would a 6+" 22 target pistol, or a 7 1/2 " 44 mag single action (neither a c/c gun) count? If 3 total FOR ME: Sig 220 stainless 45 acp with a 22lr conversion, a J frame 640, Sig 239 in 9mm.

Lol, it is a nice place to live if the politics weren't so left. It used to be republican there. I think it might be heading in that direction again.

Notice I said "in that direction"...

Only 3 ccw. You can have as many as you want, but on the ccw permit you can only have three you actually carry.
