Yea, seems like a no brainer.

I got a new 627 PC 5" and took it to the range to see if it was a keeper in terms of accuracy.

A red dot is much easier for accuracy testing (faster, less eye strain & less concentration). The new 5" was acceptable although none of my groups were under an inch at 25 yards. But, it's good enough to keep and will be headed off to Clark Custom next week for a duty trigger job.

I brought along my 627 snubby to test with magnum loads. I was curious to see the elevation change between my target loads and magnum loads.

Surprise, surprise. Nrk, nrk, nrk.
No red dot on the snubby.

Both guns were sighted in for my target load which is 5 grains of Titegroup and a 125 grain HP.

OK, can someone please explain why the snubby has no elevation change and the 5" barrel gained 6 inches of elevation?

I have not had any major issues with new S&W products but agree that they could use a little better QC.

They forgot the "E" in Performance. Oh well. It's still a keeper.

Actually, both of my snubbies are shooters.

"E" or no "E," that 627 makes for a good-looking snub !

I would guess that the difference in POI between the two is due to a few things, one of which being barrel dwell time.

Thanks. The snubby surprised me again. I keep thinking about selling it because it's kind of a novelty but when it shoots like that...
