what type of improvement you looking for? is this a HD/range gun? competition? carry?

I have the FSS with aluminum flat face, I love it.

enhancement triggers don't work with fss kits only with factory parts or duty/carry kits.
fss triggers won't work with enhancement parts neither factory only with apex fss parts.
duty/carry kit will be the similar as stock, but smoother.
FSS - Forward set set, reduces over travel, and reset, and trigger pull. IMO the best.

do you want to keep the factory trigger? or the apex trigger (polymer or flat face aluminum).

Do you want a polymer or metal trigger?
Do you want a flat or curved trigger?
Answer those two questions and that will drop that list to less than half.

No preference on polymer, metal, flat, or curved, really. Price is my main concern. I just want the best trigger I can get for the money.

Thanks!

FSS with the polymer trigger for the money. The FSS is the best in my opinion. Polymer is the less expensive of those. Thats what I did, no regrets.

Best for doing what? Yes, it matters. The best trigger for the money is the stock trigger. It works every time and costs nothing extra. I got the DCAEK and the polymer AE trigger because I didn't like the articulated trigger and I wanted to get the grittiness and the, to me, excessive slack out of the trigger. I didn't want the aluminum trigger because polymer gun polymer trigger. I wasn't looking to lighten the trigger pull because it's not a range gun I use it for everything I want a pistol for. It didn't make the gun shoot any better but it did make me feel more comfortable with the gun.

That's like asking, which new vehicle should I buy?"
Like shield9mm asked, is this for Competition (better know the rules of what Division you want to shoot before throwing random mods into the gun), concealed carry? ( a 3# trigger is great until you let off an ND) range toy? (how much money you got?)

There is no "best buy" in gun mods--most people like THEIR choices..

I don't know what exactly you're looking for, but here's some info to give you a reference point.

FSS with Polymer trigger in my FS40. I probably polished the trigger bar on it as well and maybe the sear surface, can't remember. Using the stock trigger spring and not the one supplied in the kit. Shorter travel, very little takeup, pretty much no creep, extremely little overtravel if any, shorter reset, breaks at 3lbs even. Kit was like $125 or so when I did it, I dont know what it costs now. It was worth it to me at the time because I was completely fed up with the 7lb grit lever that came on the gun. Gun sits in the safe til I drag it out and shoot it. I dont carry it, I don't shoot competitions or anything like that.

Thanks guys for all the great info and advice! So it sounds like the FSS with polymer trigger is the best bang for the buck and the flat trigger is just a preference. Sounds like we have a winner! Thanks everyone.

My M&P 9c trigger smoothness and pull improved by changing only the sear from stock to APEX standard fully machined sear. If money is a major factor, you may want to try this before moving on to spending more on a different trigger.

I picked up an APEX duty/carry kit for $75 on eBay for my M&P45 full size. I kept the stock trigger. The change was an amazing light, smooth trigger with an actual reset!

My problem is not which Apex kit to get for my FS45 its getting my hands on a modern sear block housing with 1/8" plunger that Apex recommends. My M&P has the older 1/16" sear housing. There tough to find, out of stock everywhere.
