Whether you have them or not, which attainable guns really have your number

For me:

pre-64 Win. Model 70 deer rifle

Ithaca 4E Knick trap gun

5" 5 screw 357 Magnum

Full size semi-auto pistol

High-powered rifles have always interested me, but I have so little need of them. Ditto fancy optics. That said, I suppose if I was going to start scratching an itch it might be for a .338 Lapua, but there is no way I can justify it.

Maybe a custom 416 Ruger (or similar beltless 416) on a new Model 70 action... ? ;)

I've always considered a 640 no-dash to be my "grail gun." I've come close to getting one a few times via Gunbroker auctions, but bidding would always go just outside my max budget. One day...

Would a 3" 65 be considered attainable? I wish I still had one. :(

I also really want a Sig P239, ideally a 1st Gen SAS in 9mm (the DAK version).

1911s are always on my "want" list, but for me they'd probably be most likely used as range guns rather than carry guns, so they're not as high a priority on my list.

I would love to get a Beretta 92FS again. I had one and it was the most reliable gun I've ever owned, and that's including revolvers. I also did my best shooting with it, which never made much sense to me given the huge grip size.

A Gen2 Glock 19 would be a cool addition.

I could probably list a few others, but I think I'll stop there.

I've decided I'm partial to prewar guns. I'm not sure why, except it has to do with the amount of effort put into them. More recent guns are noticeably lacking it. So I like the following:

Prewar M70
Prewar M21
Prewar M94
Prewar K22s (ODs & 2nds)
44 3rds (but I have and like Postwar 3rds)

And I like SIG P210s

A Venezuelan FN49. I've handled Egyptian ones before which put the FN49 on my radar, but the idea of one in a softer and flatter shooting cartridge (7x57) is really appealing. The fact that they are usually gently used only adds to the appeal. All I need to do is to come up with the ~$1k they're worth. That's not cheap, but it's certainly attainable.

16 gauge pumps, Ithaca 37, Remington 870, Winchester 12. I've got a Browning Auto 5 in it but I love the pump guns. Carries like a 20, hits like a 12!

I really want a P239 and I kind of have a thing for Ruger No. 1s. I also always wanted a Beretta 84 Cheetah for some unknown reason.

My Dad recently gave me his old duty weapon, an early old roll mark Colt 1991 that has been customized to be slicker than a Pre-war National Match gun, scratching that itch.

Right now, I'm eager to get my hands on a Henry Big Steel 357/38 carbine model to pair with my Ruger GP100 Match Champion. Seems like they are made for each other.

Winchester pre-64 Model 94 Special Order Sporting Rifles. No end to the variety.

CZ 75B. Every time I see one, I love it. Every time I get it in my hand and dry fire it, I don't love it. If I buy one, I know I'll eventually end up trading it away. Same with a Glock 34. I've owned the 17. I currently own two 19's. Every time I'm about to buy one, I don't.

I think the Springfield Range Officer 1911 9mm I own is going to be tough to beat for any range-only intended purpose of use pistol.
