Which Firearm do you think has the most elegant lines

For long guns...... hard not to take a second look at any Mannlicher stocked rifle....... in todays market it's the CZ "FS" full stock/mannlicher with mauser action in 3 sizes;rimfire, .223/7.65x39 and large.

Handguns .... Browning HP with Spegel grips or the 31/2" rnound butt N-frame or 3" 66..... which IMHO share prefect proportions butt to barrel length for visual appeal.

For pistols you can't go wrong with the Beretta 70, 80 & 90 series pistols. Especially the 1st gen ones.

If you can find one the; Italian made Beretta 92 Compact (4.2" slide/barrel) Type-M single stack 9mm ..... either the S or F versions from the early 1980s...... with Beretta's bright blue finish, rounded trigger guard and wood grips.

These early 92s compared to the M9 .... it's like comparing a Python to a Model 28.

I've found 2 over the years.... at give away prices ($300 each with IIRC 3-5 magazines) I also have 2 of the early Italian 92 Compacts (12+1) in Bright blue w/ round trigger guards. All four display sleek Italian styling at it's best.

Impossible to say any particular gun has the best, but this would have to be one of the contenders. No description necessary.

Surprisingly, visual appeal is very import to many firearm enthusiasts. Which firearm do you think is very elegant. IMHO it is a Savage 99 G from the late 1920's

While the OP is obviously using the term elegant as most people do, to wit "pleasingly graceful and stylish in appearance or manner", I've always had a hard time with that definition. It's just so subjective. Having a more technical and analytical view of the world I've always preferred the alternative definition, "pleasingly ingenious and simple". Using this approach, I find John Browning's 1911, a fixed sight 4" N frame revolver and a classic Mauser 98 hunting rifle (in particular the FN Deluxe) to be the very definition of elegance.

The M1 Garand rifle is high on the list of appealing rifle designs.
The S&W Model 39 and 639 round trigger guard pistols have high appeal to me.

I always thought the Browning .22 semiautomatic rifle looked like it was designed by an artist, rather than a genius.

These were one of my passions, but I'd give the nod to the Browning Medalist as the most elegant.
