Which Firearm do you think has the most elegant lines

Lotsa nice guns discussed above! I think the prettiest handgun ever is the SIG P232:

I think it is the epitome of elegance. The Colt Navy and even the Colt Model P have the fabulous and timeless look of the Old West but in terms of sleek design and elegance the only guns close to the SIG P232 are the Mauser HSc and, wait for it.....the Remington R51, which takes the P232 into the Space Age for elegance.

I happen to think that the Browning HP is somewhat more elegant than the M1911 but I think that Star did a better job with their Government .380-style pistol.

In terms of rifles, and there are LOTS of good looking rifles, the most elegant of all have to be the African double rifles like these from Butch Searcy:

More Westley Richards elegance. If i only had a spare 50- 100K

I would have a hard time strapping them in the gun rack of the ATV and letting them get splashed with mud and rain. Or wading through the brush or the crick with them.

But I guess if you are hunting with guns like that you let your gun-bearer or man-servant do the wading.

My first thought was the Browning Hi-Power, with the 1911 a close second ("retro" or "classic" configuration, though a tastefully done modern version would also fit).

I've never shot one, but the Colt SAA with a 4-3/4" barrel would fit, too.

I think the original Beretta 92FS also has pleasing, elegant lines, but I'm a little biased. :)

I'm not really a long gun guy, so I don't really have an opinion there. Well, I do like the looks of the M1 Garand.

I agree with the OP’s opinion of the savage 99. But it’s very subjective. I think as many people find them ‘weird’ or off-putting in appearance (especially for a lever) as those who find them “elegant”.

Wow, there’re sooo many that come to mind, but since this is primarily a Smith revolver site, I’ll go with the 2.5” 66/19 or 3.5” 27, which I don’t have...yet.
