Smell is very subjective and personal. For example, some folks like the smell of diesel exhaust.

Of all the gun care products, I like the smell of Ballistol. I wonder if they add something just for the smell.

Anyone else have a favorite smelling gun care product?

Could smell like bovine by product for all I mind as long as it does the job.
I clean mine outside, CLP for the shiny one and Hoppe's for the rest.

MPro7 smells best. Cleans best too. No obnoxious smell to get the wife made at me :)

Hoppes Number 9. When it appears in DU prints you know a lot of folks like it.

Others may smell very nice, I don't know but I used to dab some Hoppes on and the females that commented positively were the ones that were for me.
It's how I located the misses... :) She's a shooter and a keeper.

I thought I was the only one who likes the smell of Ballistol. My wife thinks the cats have pissed on the carpet when I'm cleaning firearms.

Yours too? Mine works me over about Ballistol, my product of choice. So, I'm suffered to use either RemOil or Break Hold. I don't think either work as well, but I don't need Mrs bending my ear when she gets home.

I still have two cans that my Father used to clean guns with--Called P&C Nitro Solvent and was made in Cincinnati. Love that smell. To bad it's not made any more.

My SWAT team/former Viet Nam Special Forces buddy says his wife thinks Hoppes #9 is an aphrodisiac. His wife doesn't disagree.
