I am in the market for a holster for my 629 but I don't know what all is out there. I prefer one that rides high and has a thumb strap. Any suggestions? I would like to know the positives and negatives.

I have both a Milt Sparks 55 BN (Bruce Nelson).
And a Kramer.
Neither have a Thumb break but are quite secure.

Though MS is the gold standard I think Kramer makes better leather.
Their lined hourse hide holsters in an amazing brown are beautiful. And the Kramer rides a little higher.

You own a very nice revolver. Spend the bucks and do the wait time once and decide for yourself.

Good leather is a luxery but worth every penny and the wait.
Try one and I'll bet you're hooked.

Model 111 Bianchi Cyclone. Strong side, and weak side both. Just make sure you have whatever holster on an extremely heavy, wide>1.5, 1.75" leather, or stiffened synthetic belt. The belt is what makes the system work. Cheap out on the belt, and you will hate just about any holster you put on it.
