Look very closely. There is no rivet on the hammer in post #8s photo.

I see what you mean (looks like the rivet is missing) but I don't think an early-style hammer with the firing pin removed will work in a later floating-pin gun. Hmm,...

I was going to make a joke about how that gun was set up to shoot blanks, but for those with no sense of humor, that would have just been mind boggling.
