The 27s are just well, in one word Wow kinda like a smooth single malt.
The 28s are a cool cold beer on a hot summer afternoon

Get a 28 first and put a few hundred rounds of some heavy 158 semi jacketed soft point fodder through it. You should be hooked,
Then seek out the fancy 27 you will not regret either.

That's as well said as it can be said. The 27 is just magnificent to look at. Such a work or art. I wonder if it truly is Smith & Wesson at their finest hour.
 
I have many 27's. I have no 28's. I have handled many, shot several and may yet buy one, but the 27 is such a much nicer package that I just can't too excited about the 28.
