My preference is, and always has been K frames.
The Job, however, has insisted on semis for about 20 years now. I believe strongly in only using guns with the same manual of arms, so I always carry Sigs. For fun, and hunting, and sometimes for pest control I get to use a K frame, but on the street, on my time or my department's time, it's a Sig. Wish it wasn't so, but oh, well. John

In the revolver days a M-19 was my favorite carry gun. My 2 1/2" 19 was regularly carried off-duty and after many years it became older than some of my rookies. But, along came the Glock and a G23 or G27 (or both) are carried both on and off-duty. Like Lt JL, its what I train with now and they make great carry guns. When I visit my family's property down south though, one of my N-frames goes with me in the woods. JL, BTW, I am also a LT in my 30th year and if you know what DROP is, I am half way to eight.

I answered Any Semi Auto which is a lie. I'm either carrying a J frame S&W or a Sig P6/P239 40 SW depending on what I'm wearing. The J frame is a very recent buy so it's working it's way in against the P6 and P239 40SW Sig in the rotation.

Carry a 642 99% of the time. When I travel anything over 200 miles I carry my Springfield XD 9mm. I don't know why I do that just seems to happen that way. Thanks Larry

I carry a J-Frame almost 100% of the time, even when I'm carrying something else. Carry my 24-3 OWB during the winter months when I'm wearing a coat.

I consider my primary carry to be my Ed Brown 1911 Special Forces.

j-frame always....i dont like it even obvious that i carry to the people i live with, even though they know. i can slide it in my pants or jacket in a second and no one hears me checking it/loading/unloading it and i can wear what i normally do and not worry about exposure

I carry a full sized 4506-1 EVERYWHERE with no problems. I like the SA/DA feature, I like a full sized gun regardless of what anyone else will say, after all I'm the one packin' it!

This one is very accurate and has never even hiccuped once with anything. I like that!

Mine is split pretty even. In colder weather my modle 28 is a lot easier to conceal. In warm weather I could hide my model 36 under a loose t shirt.

I voted for j-frame since I carry my 637-2 every day either as a back-up for my off-duty. I didn't even see the semi-auto option but since I don't usually carry my semi-auto when I am off, I still would have selected j-frame.

I have to wait till I get up in the morning to decide what kind of mood I'm in before I pick out what I'll be carrying that day. I usually use them all, N, K, J, whatever I have laying around. But, lately I have been carrying my 442 around. It is just so handy.

I Voted J Frame..
Even though none are P&R they get the job done..
My favorite carry revolvers are the Airlite & Airweight..

K frame most of the time.

I will ocassionally carry a semi auto, most often then an M&P.

The manual of arms differences do not bother me. I train enough with all my guns that my brain knows what to do by what it feels is in the hand. May sound ridiculous or presumptious, but that's how it is.

I often switch between a Remington 11-87 and an 870. I've never stood waiting for the 870 to cycle nor have I ever tried to shuck the 11-87's forend. Same goes for when I had a dual trigger double. I never forgot to slide my hand back for the rear trigger when I needed a second shot.

If you train hard with your weapons, these differences become non-issues.
