Which S&W Revolver Do You Carry Most?

I went through a period in my life, a long time ago, when I carried this revolver on my side on a daily basis. It remains near and dear to my heart. I will be the last firearm I will dispose of should I ever have to start liquidating my inventory.:)

Carry now is the 9 Shield with CTC Green Laserguard Sight, IWB BladeTech with Ulticlip. This replaced the Smith Titanium Airlite Ti with CTC Red Laser Sight -Remora Pocket Holster, several ankle rigs, various strong side belt holsters. Also Bianchi speed strips and one HKS speed loader.

Carry a revolver 99% of the time. The M&P340 gets carried the most, say 60% of the time. The SP-101, 60-7 and 640ND cover the rest of the time.

Depending on how the situation (including the weather and my mode of transport) and how that necessitates a minimum level of security or dictates/limits my ability to dress around the gun, I'll carry (concealed) a Sig P238, Kahr P9, or S&W mod. 66-2 with a 4" barrel. I haven't worked my S&W mod. 629-3 into the line-up yet, but it's probably only a matter of time.

My carry gun is a plain old model 36 that the blueing is worn off the muzzle. I load Speer 135 grain +p gold dots. Have had that revolver since Louisiana has started issuing carry permits. Must be about 15 years now. Frank

I have a rotation of revolvers and semi auto's, I would say revolvers maybe fifteen percent of the time my Taurus .38 SPL+P and I just bought my Taurus 605 .357 Magnum about five weeks ago. I have a M&P 40 Shield,Taurus PT140 G2 40,Taurus PT111 G2 9mm,G42 380 & BG 380.they are all part of my rotation. Lately I been carrying my BG and G42 380's pocket carrying everyday.

99% of the time it's a 2.5" 19. If you would happen to catch me with an auto for some odd reason it would be a M&P9C or a BHP. If I were to add an auto as a normal carry gun the only one I would give serious consideration to would be a 3953. (I think!)

Constant companion most of the time: model 442 centennial air-weight.

Sometimes in winter with good cover clothing: split between my Actions by T custom DAO model 696 or my Chestnut Mountain Sports custom DAO model 581.

Usually a prelock 342Ti with LG-405 CT grips and loaded with 135gr Gold dots. The only thing better would be a 342PD prelock but i cant find one of those

Update

I usually carry a semi-auto, either a Kahr P380 or Kimber Solo or Kimber Super Carry Ultra+; however, when on my farm or hunting I carry a Model 696 in .44 special. It is a great package, small/light enough to carry all day and potent enough for any "varmints" I find on the farm.

I suppose we all evolve. In the 18 months since I first posted I have moved to almost exclusively carrying a revolver. (I do still sometimes carry the Kahr .380 and carry a .45 when working as a reserve narcotics agent).

These are ones that I have qualified with (for off duty, on duty and LEOSA)

Model 329-3 Carry Comp (Lew Horton)

Model 629-6 (Camfour)

Model 940

M&P 340 in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake -- always.

A few days ago the pups and I were out for their morning constitutional, just about to enter the woods, and caught a horrible foul scent that hadn't been there on our previous outings. Badger? Bear? Bigfoot? Wasn't sure, but figured the 135 grain Speer Gold Dots weren't enough so we turned tail and headed home.

Starting yesterday I invited the Trail Boss to join us on our morning walks. If I ever feel under-gunned I don the 500 in its bison scabbard (the locals are familiar with it, but it's drawn the odd look from non-residents).

I carry 100% of the time. And I open carry 100% of the time since 1 January when it became legal here in Texas. I carry one of my revolvers 95% of that time. And I rotate between my Ruger SP101 snubby and the S&W 586 (no dash) pictured. Once I am confident with the 686-2 pictured, it will join the rotation.
