Which 1911 mags will fit a SW1911DK (#108287) (.45ACP)?

My guess is that most 1911's will but I'm not sure and would like to get some info before buying them.

Thx!

I can personally attest that S&W, WIlson, and McCormick Power Mags work quite well.

If you buy some cheap mags like KKK and it chokes, don't blame the gun.

I use the ones that came with my S&W 1911 (Novak's?) at the range but I depend on Wilson 47D 8 rounders for CCW and home protection. Some people complain about the Wilson nylon followers, but I throw my "BS card" when they do that. One of my mags is over 25 years old and it runs like a top.

As an aside, historically, 1911s haven't worked for me. I've owned 5, and 4 deserved to be thrown in the lake.

S&W's 1911 is NOT one of the four. It is the best 1911 I've ever owned. I'm past 1000 rounds with zero malfunctions. It is a superb firearm.

Another vote for Wilsons

The Wilson 47D's in both 7- and 8-round versions have worked very well for me for about 20 years and 35,000 rounds of reloaded SWC's. I have six 1911's from three manufacturers and the Wilsons work well in each of them.

Had lots of issues with military contract and some other after market stuff before that. Colt factory magazines were OK but I never trusted them as much as the Wilsons. There is no real reason why some other manufacturers magazines might not be as good, but I have found no compelling reason to change.

i have been using McCormick mags , have 3 of them , never had an issue yet! over 1500 round .

A long time ago, I bought 10 unissued Army 1911 surplus magazines. They have been dead reliable in about a half-dozen 1911s of various makes. They are still available and cheap.

Wilson, McCormick and MecGar mags are all excellent, refined new-manufactured mags, but they don't work any better than the GI; they just work as well.

I have a couple S&W in 1911. My choice of mags for them are the ACT mags that came with the guns. When I locate them in the local area, I buy a few. Right now I am up to 14 mags. Never had a problem with them yet.

With my other 1911 guns, I run anything I have on hand. The S&W 1911 guns are so nice, I would hate to put another brand mag in them. They work so well as intended.

Thanks for the replys.
Last night I ordered 3 Wilson 47D's (8 rd) from Midway. I'm sure I'll want more in the future and I'll refer back for your suggestions.

Now, does anyone know a shop that has the Beretta PX4 Storm SC mags (JMPX4S9E) in stock? Those things are as scarce as hen's teeth.

Thanks again!
