Who can carry concealed in Illinois?

Obviously not the law abiding citizen. But does anyone out there know of any Illinois political bodies or politicians that have been able to "muscle" themselves into c.c. status?
It is common knowledge that elected Chicago Aldermen have given themselves the concealed carry privilege which they have enjoyed for many years now. Are state legislators or other elected officials (Secretary of State, Comptroller, Treasurer, etc.) given this courtesy through legislation? How about judges in Illinois?
In lieu of c.c., how many politicians in Illinois have protection details? The I.S.P. Governor's Detail and C.P.D. Mayor's Detail are well known. Any others?

Yup... all the criminals who prey on the law abiding citizens who cant.



Honestly though, the voters in Illinois are the ones to blame for the situation. How many more innocent people need to be murdered before they'll step up and vote for changes?

Nebmike, I need to correct you. It is not the Illinois voters, it is the Chicago voters that are to blame. The rest of Illinois has voted against Obama, Madigan, Blago and the rest of them. I believe the Illinois Sheriff's Association has come out in favor of CC. I live 90 miles west of Chicago for the last 38 years and have been there exactly 4 times. Once to see the Science Museum, once to take the 2 day test for my Professional Engineers License and twice to see Jersey Boys.

Unfortunately Cook county rules IL. IN the last election for Gov. the networks posted a picture of the state with red covering all counties that didn't carry the democratic ticket. Only 3 counties weren't red. 99.9% of the counties in IL did NOT vote in the present administration. The population of Cook county is several times more than the rest of the state. If only we could get Cook County removed from IL.

Point well taken. Its always interesting to look at a map of the U.S. to see how many counties voted for BO and how many didnt... its WAY lopsided.
