As much as I like my auto's I always preferred a revolver for protection. This little Taurus 605 is easy to carry and inexpensive. Its also built pretty damn good. I like it better than my Colt Cobra (new model). At 25 yards iron sights are 1" low but laser grips are dead on. Only a 5 shot but that should be enough for them .357mag hollow points.

I carry Two of these every day. Normally it's the 442s but I rotate one of the others in now and then. I never carry semi-autos and only have one. I haven't shot it in at least four years.

My EDC is a Model 49 no dash, that was refinished in the 80's with a Teflon coating. It is so smooth, S&W trained gunsmiths think it has a reduced trigger, but it is full power stock!

When bicycling, I've carrying a LCR 38 with factory laser.

When backpacking (not in the last 10 years!) I have a very beat up Colt Agent I use on the hip belt's adjuster straps.

I use Speer Short Barrel +P 135gr. Gold Dots in all my snubs!

I used to carry 1 or 2 speed loaders, but for the last 3 years I've been carrying a 8 round speed strip in a leather belt pouch. A jewelry store owner saw the pouch and said, "Oh, I see you carry a revolver." That is the only comment I ever had!

My usual carry piece has been a 1911-style .45 pistol for many years. Months ago I started experiencing disability in my right (strong) arm and wrist, related to ulnar nerve damage that has since been addressed with two surgeries.

In the meantime I have not been able to handle the larger pistols or recoil without pain. Manually operating the semi-auto pistols was difficult at best, impossible at times.

My choice was a 1979-vintage S&W Model 64 stainless .38 Special M&P revolver, round butt, 2" barrel, formerly issued by the Pueblo (Colorado) police department. Relatively light weight, moderate recoil, easily operable in either hand. Having carried a DA S&W revolver as a duty weapon for many years as a cop, there is more than enough "muscle memory" to make the right things happen without strain.

My surgeries were completed about 6 weeks ago and I am recovering well enough. I remain completely comfortable with the S&W 64.

Now working on getting my eyes repaired (cataract surgeries in both). Weekly trips to the range continue to assure me that I can still deliver with the old S&W revolver if I have to.

Looking forward to getting back in the groove with the .45 pistol, and enjoying the new Sig P229 .40S&W I bought just before my body became less than fully reliable, maybe some range time with the new CZ 455 American .22 LR with open aperture sights (and a set of CZ rings and new 3-9X40 scope) that rely on more visual acuity than I can deliver right now.

For the interim period I do not feel unarmed with the 2" Model 64 at my side.

EDC is a model 60-15 3" barrel in .357. I generally carry it in a OWB pancake style holster. It is loaded with Speer 135g .38+P or midrange .357 handloads. It is small, light and easily concealed even under a light pullover shirt which is left untucked.

If I need more gun, out comes the model 69 with the 2.75" barrel which is loaded with .44spl loads. And it is carried in a very similar style holster.

I have several auto pistols th I enjoy shooting, but I have always preferred wheelguns for personal security, since that is what I carried for most of my time as a LEO. Old habits/preferences die hard!

When I feel I need to (sadly because of the questionable neighborhood that I live in), it's always one of my J-frames - my 36, or my 60, or my 637. All in the same kydex IWB made by my LGS, Bare Arms. They curve it on the back and the butt tucks in well, even with Hogue oversized grips.

I've carried all kinds of handguns Glocks,S&W metal frames,S&W M&P strikers,Rugers,FN you name it I might have used it to carry I've even carried a West German P38.

I don't just carry for self defense but as a utility tool in the back country so a few weeks ago I went back to a revolver and picked a M66 four inch, yea a full sized K Frame .357  :D I haven't been back to town yet but I chose some Focchi 125 gr JHP,out here in my rural area I live in I add a speed strip of shotshell to the two of JHP.

Revolvers are simple tools,no mags to lose,no worry about if a shell will jam it up if I can stuff it in the cylinder it should work fine so I think from now on I stick with this.

I've got a 442 pro series that's my BUG at work. It's my off duty carry a majority of the time. Occasionally carry a semiauto or a k frame but usually it's that 442

I love and carry both equally, it depends on my mood, location of carry and clothing. Sometimes which gun to carry is my toughest decision of the day. :D That said, I find myself increasingly reaching for my 342PD.

When I first got my CC permit I went out and bought a 380. Couldnt trust it so I bought a S&W 638 for carry. I recently sold the 380 and bought a full sized 9mm. The 9 is a range, house, car gun. I also have a 605 that gets carried occasionally.

I love shooting my Semi-autos, however I carry either a 642 or a 940. When I go to the range, both go along with what ever else I take. I shoot two cylinders through each gun as the last part of my range trip. Generally that will be Wednesday of each week. I started my career carrying a revolver (Model 10-5) on a foot beat. Those model 10's have many memories.

Somehow I got on a 32 caliber kick.

My most common carry is my M431PD. Holds 6 rounds of 32 H&R Magnum. Usually 80 gr Critical Defense from Hornady.

When I feel like a little more power (and weight) I carry my LCR 327. It's also a 6 shooter, but I load it with either Hydra Shok or Gold Dot 327 Federal ammo. That puts me up into the 400 FP energy range.

I recently bought a 340PD which I plan to carry loaded with 357 Magnum 135 gr Gold Dots. It's lighter than either of the 32s.

Carry a wheelgun every day with confidence and pride.

One (or two) of the following: 442...36...SP101...GP100...and a .41mag Blackhawk if I'm far from the paved roads!;)

When I pocket carry, it's a Model 49. It goes to the range along with my bottom feeders. Have to stay proficient with anything I carry.
